I made a filtering for that news spike:
I think is NFP or what, but 12:30 GMT it is that USD hard news release time:
The High-Low it gives a number : voltatility
I have divided the volume by that volatility and multiplied with points, to be some integer number not to much decimal.
This should give a very low value on that news spikes because the volatility is very high.
So I could use as signal filter for Quantum ( visually )
Then I used a moving average - on that values with the same color.
Then I used a multiplier to filter out those candles with are a lot above the average.
In this case I would use like this:
Always start with the candle volatility measurement: High-Low
If volatility is high check this indicator if has the value above your filter or not.
If the volatility is almost 0 of course this will give you a huge value, which affects the moving average ( those should be fixed, but I don't have time now) Just ignore those visually and use the UpperFilterFactor to filter the noise

A beginner and an average trader will ask "how much can I earn?"
A professional one will ask "how mush is the risk ?" Probably you have read somewhere you too.
I have modified this indicator to show the next bar Close price, where we take the action: entry-exit.
Here is the M1 GBP/USD just now: 28 losing trades vs 6.
Fantastic DD! And this isn't the worse case! Maybe you have implemented at the money management to slightly increase the position size too.
I am afraid with 1k usd you make 100k usd in a few month then loss all the 100k, so in the final you lost the 1k from your account!
Then I made a filtering available:
-if is used do not enter in a trade with the same direction with worse price, just because is a new HH, LL. For me it doesn't make sense, it is reduced the income and the loss too.
Then I made another filtering, which was presented here: it is based on the signaling ( HH or LL) candle how big push it was.
- if is a push above the average probably will not resist ( or maybe will other join and will push it more, it depends)
All those 2 filters can reduce the entry/exit signals.
All filters on, in this case from the same candles - price - broker - time it reverted the huge DD in profit! 4 loss 14 win.
In this case maybe it takes 10 years to make 100k from 1k account, but hopefully you will not loose all your money in a few month.
The first case has earn 25k PIP ( without filtering) and this one just 4k PIP! - just for reference: With filtering it is a lot slower( but I don't want to see -50% of may account floating)
It may happen to have an unfiltered exit signal and can get out earlier with smaller loss, but the filter it hides that too! - the Volatility filter, but exactly that can make to turn all / overall in profit - just like now. And filtering add less to loosing positions. And we enter in losing direction usually.
Sharing the indicator:
The calculations of how much pips you aren't it is not really valid, it has bugs, you can use it with precaution:
Show the Terminal windows ( where are your trades visible) , Click on the Experts tab, right click and Clear All.
Then switching time frame or currency pair you should not see anything like "Possible a bug at closing.." or "BUG at " because there are programming error and I don't want to fix it now.
If you can see "Adding negative pip to.." that's good, you just has a trade with loss and check how often has and how big are they for your MM.
If you do programming then delete the EA simulation stuff, not needed at all or fix it
Edit: Added the SimulateTrading option, default is false, to not have useless text and be faster

Due to my full time job, I wasn't able to do forward testing so today I had some free time so I decided to do it with extra precautions .
My target was Net 10 pips. 3 set of trades got total 30 pips.

I have removed the trade simulator and added a time filter too to the existing ones

0.01 shouldn't return -for me - more then 0.5% in a day. Here is 8 times.
This is exactly the same as usig 8 times of the risk, Ex if you trade with other style 2% risk per trade, now you would trade with 16% per trade. Using 8 times more leverage.
I run the EA and the equity curve has parts, where is increasing, very much.
Has parts where is a huge DD: starting Eq 2k cimb to 10k and then 0. Until you make the 10 you will post everything how much pips you made and how big is your return, but at 70%-80% DD your trade explorer miraculously is deleted.
Like I told: if you make 100k in 3 month from 1k then you loose all 100k it means you lost 1k in 3 month.
Admit the August and the Mondays are perfect for the ranging system, as well the second part of December

If not filtered, just to many signals, and you got a period when is trending.
I remember ages back, when I burnt my first account at Oanda it was like that: 300 pip on eur / usd and no return point, then a few pause and 300 again.
I used 50:1 leverage to make +20% each day. It goes for a while but sooner or later you will face the same.
Like EUR/CHF in January 14 2015. Not need just once in a year...
What I didn't tested is to use a SL and check my trades: if it was executed with SL then stop the EA or at least don't enter more.
Helps the increasing the trade size by a multiplier, but brings closer the wipe:
