Hi MM

Why do you choose to trade GBPUSD during Asian session? Why not use AUDUSD or a Yen pair as these move a bit more in the Asian session. Also when do you start to watch the charts to place your trades is it pre-Toyko or do you wait for the Toyko open?

Hi Ozziedave,

I look at several pairs and do trade these other pairs but usually only post the GBPUSD to the thread since this is the pair that is most commonly followed here.

An important point to make regarding the choice of GU during the Asian session is that I'm chasing a pair that is typically range bound (ie it has limited range swings).

This limited range swing allows me to up the lot sizes considerably and it has been working very well.

Of course there are other pairs that work well........ I also take many trades on Gold.............

As the trading day unfolds and gets closer to London Open the ranges generally increase meaning a significant reduction in position size must occur due to the DD reality of this method. I may or may not trade the FF onwards session.......

GBPUSD appears to be a great choice to trade throughout the trading day and historically has shown to be quite 'stable' at least when compared to other currency pairs using this method.

I'm very dedicated to chart analysis so when I'm looking at the charts I will always form an opinion based on previous price action, key levels on the chart, examine the trading ranges prior to Tokyo Open and mark them on my chart, awareness of how far price is away from important levels regarding chart structure plus many other factors including overall bias direction of the pair (news that has just come out or about to on the same trading day).

This allows me to anticipate where price could go or where price is likely to go........ I will draw several important levels on my chart on top of the WP and MP........... I keep up with historical trading ranges for the pair being traded and its relevant trading window (maximum ranges and overall average ranges)

My demo got blown out in roughly 4 hrs.

In trading euraud.

Not suitable for cross pairs.
Intraday only.

Depending on the choice of trade frequency and how the trading range is behaving the Q entry values might need to be adjusted.

Since Q =125 has not generated any trades for the last hour (since Tokyo Open) then other Q values need to be explored.

Setting now altered to GBPUSD [M1; 75 -75/manual]

Once price starts breaking out of these tight trading ranges producing bigger swings then the Q value can be increased again...........as I have said before its important to follow the chart and dynamically adjust the Q values if and when required.

It is possible to monitor several Q value settings on the 1 chart you simply apply multiple instances of the Q indicator to your chart!

Sometimes the initial Q value you choose does not need to be altered for the entire trading window but this is not always the case.

Back after a week away and I see massive pips racking up!

good to see you smashing it MM , posted in wrong page ..... most excellent signals if taken with PDF (Patience Discipline and Focus ..thanx Udine) for someone with small account ..be selective, be aware of supply demand , it does work if your are disciplined

Just IMO small accounts and newbies need to be aware of where the squares appear ....

There's plenty going on in the background however some traders should become more familiar with key levels, match it with their favorite Q value and simply open a trade with a SL and TP attached........

This is just an example of how an account could 'steadily' be increased in size such that once 10K is hit then they can diversify and start trading multiple positions in certain trading windows if they so choose.

It really needs another thread started up to discuss this approach in detail but as always there are many roads that lead to Rome!
