why is used trigger_sell_bidratio much lower then compared trigger_buy_bidratio? If I compare trigger_buy_bidratio 75 then trigger_sell_bidratio should be 25? (scale is from 0 to 100 if I am not wrong, HP?)

Hi Jason, because of the nice profits i was thinking about the same, i think an initial SL should be wide (look at the DD) and maybe later on get smaller as it goes your way.
Another way is to set basket TP/SL, maybe R:R 1:2 will do.
Persistence will get it. Consistency will keep it.

I posted this bid ratio indi on July 30.

Put this on a chart and watch price action. Then, you can see where you like to set it, because you will see on the chart what the daily bid ratio is when price action is the way you like to sell. (You may decide you like 25, I did not.) Hope this helps. -Jason

this number could they be shown as a indicator line?

The last fundamental calls (I get them from a friend after NYO it was buy E Chf, sell N J G Cad). Thats why i like to add manual directions

What is trailing type = 2 or 3 or 4 ? Does it change the style of trail?
If there are 2 trades open before 10 pips, what happens with the trail stop? Thanks. -Jason

Very rudimentary so 2,3,4 not implemented.
1 is on a trade by trade basis.

Yes here is some idea:
we dont use any TP or SL

entry is as known for example
trigger_buy_bidratio=75.0 buy

then we stop to add trades
trigger_buy_maxbidratio=95 stop buying (block)

trades will be closed at a trigger like
trigger_buy_close_bidratio=55.0 close longs

we wait to arrive at a resume point like
trigger_buy_release_bidratio=50.0 block release

if trend resume and we hit 75 again, we repeat
trigger_buy_bidratio=75.0 long again or

similar for shorts
trigger_sell_bidratio=25.0 short

Interesting idea Bernhard.
I'll tell you why.
For me (U.S.) the CFTC 'rules' (FIFO, OTO)
have corrupted/eliminated MANY strategies concerning TP and SL/trade management. I hate it.
FXCM 'groups' ALL TP's and SL's of same pair multi trades. You cannot 'stagger' your exits or take profits.
It keeps 'bumping' a 'close all' stop BEHIND the most recent entry.
It keeps 'bumping' a TP 'out of reach' by imposing/assigning the TARGET of (only) the most recent entry and assigns it to 'ALL'.
It literally ruins all attempts at good trade management of capturing incremental profits and staggering stops.

I doubt whether the 'simple' trailing stop in the db will work (for me). My broker will 'override' it.

So... the 'method' YOU''RE describing would work (for me)
and at the same time...
be a 'dynamic' trade management system. At least for good 'stop' management...
if it could be used (in some similar way) for TP...
then 'my' problems would be reduced a great deal.
Your idea is still a 'close all' method..
but
it remains 'internal' and doesn't 'input' the 'close order' to the broker until the dynamic threshold is 'hit'.
aka... NO SL's for my Broker to mess with.
I like it.

We all use 1440 as the default choice for the bidratio and it seems a good choice.
but
I've experimented w/ the other 2 choices: 4H and 1H (which might come into play w/ your idea)
but
though they DO make the bidratio more 'sensitive'...
the % calculations get REALLY wacky.... like on the 1H setting you can get 200% - 450% showing up.. fwiw.

please give more details. I tried also with h4 but didn't continue to look after results. what exactly will happen if we do h4 or h1 or even m15 we get a scalper ??

No... I don't think it would work like that... like I said... the % becomes crazeee @ 1H
but.. think about this:
Once you tie Trade Management to something 'dynamic' like the bidratio..
then
Consider a pull-back type entry scenario...
instead of launching an entry on a SINGLE trip lever... (often at the 'peak' of a PA 'push')

With a dynamic like the bidratio you can do it in 2 sequences...
(LOAD) the first push hits a bid ratio % that 'qualifies' the pair for an entry.
(FIRE) a second (slightly lower) threshold (the pullback after the price 'stretches' then retracts) actually (then) launches the trade
same (predicted) direction but giving a 'better' entry point... using just the bid ratio to determine all.

you mean (this is known technique) we take direction from the higher TF and trade from the lower TF?
this we do usually with single pair trading but how it would look in a whole currency?
still we should test some other TF configurations.
too many things for testing... already we have seen good results
