Trading is as simple as ABCD

Please guys,how do one trade this method on a long time basis because i do not have the luxury of time to sit by my system all they long.How do i place trade on h1 or h4 charts in the morning and possibly pick profit in the afternoon or night PLUS place trade at night and possibly pick profit in the morning.

Hey Jay, you don't use multiple charts!
If you wish to trade the 1min candles then set 3 fast-tmas on one chart a 1m + 5m + 15m
or 5m + 15m + 1h.
The idea here is to generate 3 sets of (tma) price waves so that when the cycles of the waves are in agreement you would enter the trade.

I'm afraid to say I think I've lost my way here and probably led a few guys down the wrong track so want to put it right and get us back on track with a very simple method of trading that is easy simple yet very effective..

Price can only go up or down so all we have to do is find ourselves a strong trending pair where you have no doubt its either going up or down, then wait for our simple ABCD move and trade it.

I want to go back to the original idea behind the thread of trading the simple ABCD move in a strong trending market, pure and simple...

Just to remind ourselves what we're looking for here's our simple ABCD move in all its glory...

First the up move..



Now the down move..



Nothing too complicated there is there and how we trade it too is very simple...



As you can see there's two ways to trade an ABCD move either the breakout which involves buying the break of "B" or the pullback entry buying the "C" point which is my preferred method for a number of reasons which I won't bore you with here, but suffice to say I am going to use the pullback entry throughout this thread from now on with the very occasional breakout when market conditions demand..

Ok thats fine in theory but lets have a look at some real charts to see what they look like in reality..



As you can see thanks to a Zig Zag indicator that they are all over the charts but which ones should we trade???

Well lets look at the same chart with a couple of indicators to help us out..



Using our 5 min TMA to show us a strong uptrend so we know we're only buying then look for our C pionts where our CCI goes oversold in an uptrend and hey presto 3 nice green arrows and you've got 3 nice trades , now what could be simpler than that??? Oh and when it turns over a nice little sell signal too...By the way that red thicker line is the HRLY TMA higher band...

So heres what I'm doing in simple language I'm using the 5 min TMA middle band buying green arrows when the middle bands green and selling red arrows when the middle bands red.. Should also say it should be a strong trender using my TTindy set on a 500HMA just to find the strongest 5 minute trends..

Will say that the better moves will come from the 5 minute outer bands if price pulls back that far but maybe better to say sell in upper half of channel and buy in lower half of channel...

Heres a sell situation with middle band red sell the CCI overbought levels and red arrows in upper half of channel..



So to summarise find a strong 5 min trend then if the middle bands red sell the overbought CCI's if its green buy the oversold CCI signals...

So how do we find the strongest trending 5 min charts??? Yep you've guessed it our dear old TTindy set to 500hma as I want it to show me the longer term trend but not too far way..

And heres one of the top trenders GBPCAD as it finished up Friday...looks like some nice entries...

I just downloaded the files from other threads and none of them load up for me.

file---open data folder---mq4 indys in indicators templates in templates

so it's the data folder which is a hidden folder and not the one in program files?

read what i put...look in the file list

first one today for 13.4 pips....

Just to let you all know I've changed my TTindy look back period from the template I posted to 60 mins so now I'm looking back at the last hours data as I'm looking for the longer trend.

Interestingly the top trenders are outside their 5 minute channels and approaching their hrly higher bands so not gonna get involved too much more here even though the GBP charts look good to go long..





Gotta wait for the pullbacks....if nothing else plus of course its Frankies hour reknown for its reversals as London takes over control..

Hi Clive, I have only just come across this thread and I only wished I had a long time ago.

i have always traded Oandas own platform which is fantastic and have never got on with MT4. Therefore I am trying to start reading through your programme and find indicators on Oanda platform to match. I am not sure I am going to be able to do that but I will try. On that note would you be kind enough to post a summary of your all your settings and any recommendations to go with them. If I have to revert to using MT4 for signalling and Oanda for trading so be it but I would really like to try and avoid that.

any thoughts comments would be appreciated . Thanks in anticipation.

My broker is also OANDA and I'm trading via MT4.
Should you want to make use of the strategies and indicators on this thread, MT4 is the only way.
Trading via Oanda and using MT4 for signalling creates an obvious time lag, but hey, that's your choice.

look.on page 200 i think i posted a zip file called hurst

just enclosing price action on both sides, creating a channel.
instead of just using the bands, I find it a bit more exact to use channels along with them.
example: price is going outside the bands and because of that, you might think that price will go either up or down.
but if you also plot the channels, then you sometimes can see that price is still within the channel.
or even if price sometimes is outside the bands it have not yet reached the channel resistance.
then again, that might save you from a bad entry.
so if you use both channels and the bands together, you will have a higher probability in your decision.
channels are always paralell to eachother, meaning, the same slope. what you do is just draw a line,
then select it and hold the ctrl key and drag aside, then you have it.

I hope he don't mind for using his chart
just to see the difference it makes.
