A Long Setup is about to Form on GU....I am waiting for more Bullish Evidence to start placing Buy Trades... Trend is still Bearish right now, but the Blue Boxes are telling us a story and there's no reason to predict at this point.... It's best to wait and pull the trigger accordingly..... {image}

Hi,

Excuse me for saying, but that chart looks messy to me, not that it's any of my concern.

Also, I thought you guys were supposed to be posting when mers rules were being applied, but allowed to post results only if a diffrent system is being used.

In your case you seem to have suddenly switched to a trend trader unless I am mistaken

Cheers

LL

The boxes are there to provide many entries, but the thought process behind your decision reflects on what you see in the chart...Being an impatient Trader is not a bad thing, but sometimes it's important to wait for the right opportunity to pull the trigger in order to avoid Max DD... That's why I offer that Messy Looking Chart....You don't have to use it LL, but some people will find it very useful, and hopefully understand how I start my first trade at the last Blue box or Red Box....

I'm presuming (rightly or wrongly) that this was designed to trade primarily GBPUSD.

Would have been a lot of DD if you had traded AUDUSD today.

Thanks again Mer for the great system. Here it is in action on the EURUSD. I put in my Stochastic just to guide me on when to exit and enter. Simple and works well for me. I raved up the first entry with 0.5 lot size because i was a bit confident and also guided by stochastic. i just browse it on the 1hr TF and if its oversold i rave up the lot size. this isn't in keeping with the rules, but if you are comfortable then go fo it. otherwise risk mgt should always be a priority.
Does anyone know a good broker with a decent no deposit bonus incentive (sorry for stepping outta line on this one)

ABCD Trading (using 300 Quantum in conjunction with Sonic): 24 Trades, 16 Winners, 5 Losers, 3 Break-Even. 187 Pips. Max SL was 15 Pips.
Going with the trend: 18 Trades, 17 Winners, 1 Break-Even. 101 Pips. Max SL 15 pips as well.

Yes, I understand all that, but the point is you are not using mers rules, as indeed neither do i as it happens.

And as a consequence, with respect tp mers thread, I do not discuss my system, and only post results, which he has permitted us to do, and if you applied the same ruling that mer requested, then neither would you....

Cheers

You did make a great point LL, but Mers is aware of my position....I only use the concept of his system, and do follow his rules but backwards....I enjoy seeing profits right away....Not a big fan of DD.

W have a similar view on the dd thing, which I completely understand.

But, like me, we use a different system to mers. I don't discuss my system because it is not compliant with mers rules, but I will post results when they are available. That is the extent that mer has allowed us, which I have no problem with at all, and I'm suggesting to you that that you ought to follow the same principle, otherwise the thread will become a free for all and a mish mash of systems, which is obviously what mer is trying to prevent.

Hope you get my point

Cheers

Wow, you guys have been busy. I let the EA run for the first time last night and the results look pretty similar to ones posted by mer071898 and Mastermind. Seems like on the close there was some slippage, but that's most likely due to my broker and not the EA. I've received some pm's about interest in developing a sophisticated EA for this system with some of the account protection utilities built in. As of right now I'd like to trade this EA with the default setting to see what we can learn. Then modifications and add-ons can be made. We learn from experience right? I don't want to create a monster out of something that appears to be so simple and clean. So let's let this roll and see how much we can learn. I hope we can stay on topic here and not get too far off track. Best to all.

This is a live account btw for those keeping track.

Curious about the results. For whatever reason, Vlads EA stopped after some heavy runs against us.

For those interested here is another EA based on this method.

You can choose a start and end time for when trades are taken. eintDepth3 from the indicator can be changed in the EA settings.

I've defined the EA to take a start Lot size and then apply an increment against this for each additional trade so e.g. for the first 7 trades starting with a lot size of 0.1 and an increment multiplier of 1.03 we get lot sizes of:

0.10
0.10
0.11
0.11
0.11
0.12
0.12

Results in back test seem really good and I'm now running a forward test.

Thanks

Mark.

Are people taking trades throughout the day also???? I thought the whole principle around the system was that it was exploiting a Market characteristic/flaw in Frankfurt / London transition. getting in on the smaller move in one direction then coming out once the market pushes in the true direction to a greater degree, creating a better RR. I have only been looking at the first prime example of the day and once normal service resumes and the market pushes around 8-9 am gmt I wont enter.
I think mer said he trades until mid NY(maybe) but I assumed he only meant holding a trade until then?good luck to those trying alternatives just curious.

mer - are you making any allowance for the fact that here in UK we are BST not GMT at the moment
Ignored
I am only going by what my Qlock program shows and my brokers time. I understand it's BST right now but as long as you stay in the 4-6 GMT window, you'll be fine. here's and insert from www.greenwichmeantime.com in case someone wants to know what BST is:

Does London observe Daylight Saving / Summer Time?

Like most countries in Europe, Summer (Daylight-Saving) Time is observed in London, where the time is shifted forward by 1 hour; 1 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+1). After the Summer months the time in London is shifted back by 1 hour to Western European Time (WET) or (GMT)

Summer time is known as British Summer Time (BST)

From the posted EA, I only get negative results with standard parameters. Donīt know if its working properly, but it seems as if for a few days we collect pips just to lose even more in one bad sequence.

You can take every trade run if you so desire. I take the first trade opportunity that presents itself after the specified start time and once that run is closed, I'm done for the day. What I meant about mid NY is that if I do not get any entries before mid NY, I won't take any trades because you're going from a volume heavy trading time to a ranging period, which is not what we want.

And good job to those testing out the alternatives, some very interesting stuff, and that's perfectly okay with me. Remember to keep focus on the base strategy while in the thread. If anyone wants more info on how a person is trading this differently, just PM the poster.
