Both yourself and AJLFx are using these bands to very good effect to identify the right place to enter on the 1 minute chart within or just outside these high timeframe channels.

I think its very good high probability trades when the higher timeframe trading channels are exceeeded as it means there is a high probability reversal on the cards.. Whenever the 15 min channel has been broken say downwards then look for the 1 minute middle band to turn green and take the first CCI pullback back with the new 1 minute trend.. Get to BE quickly within 10 pips at most and hold until opposite bands hit or 1 min middle band turns red again...

Remember price can only go up or down so all we have to do is identify places on our chart where we can expect a high probability turn one way or the other to go that way for as long as possible, so giving us bigger winners with a very small risk on entry..

Does that make sense???

What I'm saying is the best places to trade the 1 minute chart is at the extremities of the 5, 15 and hrly channels.

So all we have to do is look for 1 minute reversals (middle channel colour changes) at the right place on the 5 , 15 and hrly charts.

I'm just waiting for an alert when the middle band changes colour then have a look to see where we are on the other channels. If I like what I see ie is it in the right place ? Then I will trade that turn... Small risk on the 1 minute entries and higher return trading across the 15 min or hourly trading channel..

Pictures paint a thousand words so let me show you what I mean from today's charts...

The centre line is my one minute centre line, that's my direction as far as I'm concerned if its red we're going down if its green we're going up and we can see the other timeframe middle lines from our Dashboard top right of chart. Its a very easy visual to check if the 1 minute direction is going in same direction of the higher timeframe channels so giving you a heads up to which 1 min middle band turns to trade..

So on this EURCAD setup we see the 5 and 15 are going down so a good idea to trade any 1 minute middle band turns in the same direction..but not always by the way which I will show you later..

Looking at this chart we can see that price has gone outside the 5 and 15 min upper bands, so we know its going to come back into the channel at some time, but when??? Well no need to guess just wait for the 1 minute middle band to alert you to a slope change then checkout the chart to see where we are on the higher timeframe channels..

After we get the alert we can see we are outside the extremities of the 5 and 15 min so now I'm looking for a sell signal from my CCI and low and behold we get three so take your choice.. Get to BE quickly and see how it goes.

Hold all the time the middle channel stays red as we're going down and exit when it turns green again or when price hits the lower bands on the 5 15 or hourly bands , your call, but I'm happy to hold on middle band colour changes.. basically I'm holding as price goes down and will exit when it turns up again...

Now lets look what happens when the same pair does the exact opposite at the lower bands??

Once again price goes outside the lower bands but this time its the HRLY too so we're looking for our middle band alert this time to green..Same as before we wait for our CCI buy signals after the change of middle band so we know we're going up..

We get at least 5 tradable entries of which I think 4 work fine with maybe a loser on the second arrow...Exit at next slope colour change or when the upper bands get hit , your choice...

So that to me is the way forward , I'm only looking at my charts once they've alerted me to a slope change on my 1 minute chart then I open up the chart to see if its a turn worth trading...

To summarize, price can only go up or down so I'm only interested in these 1 minute turns and nothing else...The best trades are the ones that get in early to the new move and every new move starts with a 1 minute slope change thats a fact, we just have to be choosey over the ones we decide to trade and for me thats if its outside its trading channel, because it's in an abnormal place so every chance or higher probability its going to work out our way...

Oh and by the way for those guys that still believe you only trade in the direction of the higher timeframe those setups are just described, one was with the 5 and 15 min trends and the other was against which went further??? You see the thing is we never know how long a trade is going to move in the same direction for, its completely random , just take the reversals, get to BE and see what happens...

Have a look at what I've just posted as I think it supersedes what you're asking for here. You see as far as I'm concerned its not so much that we should trade in same direction as higher timeframes , although I'm sure the courts still out on that one. But what is important is that we trade as early as possible in any new move whether its with the higher timeframe channels or against. The most important thing is to enter at the start of the new move and as early as possible to get as many pips as we can from each move up or down.

remember Mr V's adage that the best entry is the first pullback in a new trend???

So i think its better to put the slope alerts on so we get called to a chart when the 1 minute trend has changed direction, then check your higher TMAs on the dashboard to see if they are going the right way for you. If the higher ones are going the same way as the new 1 minute trend look to take the next couople of CCI signals..

I think this is the better alert than to be alerted when they all agree as many times the better trades come when they don't agree. Why??? Well you have to remember whats going on in Forex trading basics, if price has been moving one way for a long time say 15 min trend set one way, then the market is probably oversold or bought and loaded with traders with itchy fingers waiting to bank their profits as soon as they get a sniff of a reversal.

This reversal, after a sustained move one way, is very often the best to trade as they all rush to bank their profits from an extended run one way...

So my advice Jason is to set the 1 minute middle band slope alert and when you get one open the said chart and look for the conditions you want to see before deciding whether to trade it or not, if you want the higher TMAs to agree with the turn then so be it, if they agree take the trade...

Also it will be doing exactly what you've just asked for if it alerts its just turned down and the 5 and 15 min are already down, thats the alert you're requesting, isn't it??? To be alerted when the three TMAs line up???

Have you tried to backtest it with TMA backtest indi from 7,606 post? I'm not sure how accurate it is. But seems quite accurate to me.

Just look how does it look like at the time and then do your conclusions.

OK so to finish off what I'm doing going forward is very very simple, its based on a very simple fact....

Price can only go up or down so all we need to decide is which turns up or down do you want to trade??? Then try to get into that new turn at the earliest possibility on the first couple of CCI signals back with the new 1 minute trend..

I'm going to be sitting here with the top 8 trending pairs open with the 1 minute slope alert on it and whenever I get an alert that the centre line has changed colour I'm going to have a look at that chart and see if I want to trade that turn or not???

I'll be looking for turns at the extremities of the higher timeframe bands, I'll be looking for turns back with the higher trend, especially turns within the right half of the channels. I'll be looking for out and out reversals from turns outside the channels ..I'll be looking for turns at big levels like BRN's and 25 levels etc. Basically trying to qualify the turn as to whether it's one I want to trade or not??

Some will work some won't but I will be going to BE very quickly within 5 or so pips the majority of the time as the idea is that these signals will either work or they won't and so I will want out if they don't go...

I might even just have 5 min top trender charts open and take every turn with the 5 minute trend, not sure I'm convinced of that but will give it a try...

Will be looking around market opens of course and just after news releases, all the normal filters...

There will be a lot of signals to checkout thats for sure so should keep me busy...

So heres my template if anyone else is interested whereby it will just alert you when the 1 minute middle band changes direction...

Hi Nuckern

Thanks for the indy but I'm not a great fan of backtesting I'm afraid, not that I don't think its a good idea, but I just haven't got the time or the patience..

I'm quite happy about how the TMAs repaint etc as I'm not expecting them to be the same at the time of trading but just there to give me an indication of where we are in the higher timeframe trading cycles. the important thing for me is that we get a turn alert and I then decide if its worth trading or not purely from where we are in the channels and how clean the price action is etc...

Might add a filter to only take turns in direction of higher timeframe channels but not convinced it will help at this time but lets see how it goes forward testing next week...

Yeah. I understand. I'm not fan either. But It's just indi. You don't have to DO ACTUALL BACKTEST if you know what I mean.. Just set 3 TMA BT as usuall TMA and use arrows or mouse or whatever on your live chart... It will show you the position of TMAs at the time.. So you can easily save it as BT template and use it. whenever you want. So it's not really about time.. setting color is the longest about it. But I'm not here to persuade you. ) I think it's just good to see the picture in few sec. OR you can completely move it to the end of screen and just use F12.

Hi Clives,just a lil clarification,does the no fear trading system contain all the indys you use or is it an indy on its own? I already have the TMA bands,trend cci,TDI,super indicator,liveli sr,and dashboard tma slopes(which does not change color and limited to m15).I'm still searching for the tma slopes input procedure and will be glad if you or anybody on the thread can help locate the post number.Also on your post number 7701,what do u call the red dotted line,green dotted line and the one at their centre that changes between red and green so i could locate them easily for download,the three are within TMA band channel,thank you.I want to be in the know so that i can also share my idea with the house.

Ok to answer your 3 points one at a time...

I think you mean the "The No Fear Trading system" template and no it doesn't contain all the indys , you will have to download them I believe then the template will select the right ones for you automatically..

Sounds to me like you haven't downloaded the right FastTMALine indicator as the dashboard only works with the right one, so I've posted it below for you...
As for the inputs post heres my inputs on the Dashboard.

Notice how you can select the pairs you want as well as the timeframes so its entirely up to you what you monitor..

That my friend is the FastTMALine indicator set to "current" so will display whichever timeframe it is sitting on so in this case it was on the 1 minute chart so shows the 1 minute TMA with the upper band red and the lower band green..Here are the input settings for that..

I think that just about answers all your questions and now you should have charts like mine but can I suggest you play around a bit with the inputs etc for yourself and learn how to do these things, I understand we all have to start somewhere but we also have to do a lot of the ground work ourselves so read through the posts again and again until you can follow whats going on.

Sure it will take time but the more you learn on your own the better it sticks, trust me...

Since this is Clive's topic. And I don't wanna put my template to confuse people. So I actually changed Clive's template.

This is Backtest version of Clive's template. Just use the template on any chart you want and scroll in history. You'll understand pretty fast how does it work.

EDIT: I added picture for better understanding. The end of TMAs is showing where they have been at the time.

Hi Nuckern

This is very cool...

For those who are not getting what Nuckern is saying, Have a look at the same chart as his above but as it is now...

Can you see the subtle difference between the repainted TMAs on my chart and the one that he has posted showing where they were at the time???

What I would like to point out is despite the subtle differences you can still see that at the time the price had gone above the TMAs so we are looking for a turn on the 1 minute back down, eg middle band to turn red...


The signal still works out because its not crucial that the TMAs are repainting, whats critical is that in this area we are looking for a turn down and we get one, so when this slope change alert goes off we look at the chart and decide that because of the position of price above the TMAs we will trade it...

The exact position of the TMA is not so critical just the position of price when the middle band alerts us to a trend change on our 1 minute chart..

Hopefully this will put a lot of this repainting issue to bed once and for all, the TMA is constantly updating itself to try to estimate the extremities of the existing wave or channel because forex is a constantly changing environment therefore it will "repaint" as it updates itself but it is still very useful indicator..

what you can also see very clearly is how the TMA is dragged down by the price movement downwards and not vice versa which is why I'm not trading TMA touches etc but waiting for price to confirm the reaction and the middle band to turn red..before I even consider an entry.

Only after the middle band turns red will I look for a CCI sell signal to enter...

Great stuff Nuckern and very useful for backtesting...
