I'll have to keep my own contrarian instincts in check... but I do have difficulties to see a 'grexit' now.

Time drags on, politicians prepare their constituents for the possibility of a grexit, but on Sunday evening they will emerge from the conference room and will state: we have aversed the unthinkable, the catastrophe. 'Peace for our time' they will say.

Granted, on the political end not only Germany, but at least Estonia, Slovakia, the Netherlands and Finland are prepared for plan B. The last week has hardened the position of a couple of conservative MPs in Germany, they won't vote for a deal under these circumstances. But Merkel is prepared to pull a confidence-vote in the Bundestag if she believes in the deal, so in effect staking her chancellorship on that. So: if she agrees on sunday, the deal will go thru. The ECB will extend ELA.

This is me, the contrarian.

On the more realistic side: politicians need time to turn. Until last friday the official line was: Grexit is impossible. Now that they've rolled it around a little bit they might really take a stand on the weekend.

What's missing is the narrative... at the moment people say: a grexit will be seen as a blow to the unreversabilty of the EZ-membership, and so markets will start to take the PIGS apart. The true narrative should be: "a system is stronger, if it is flexible, if we - as markets do - are able to weed out the weak parts."
Fail better.

On M5-M30 TF buy signals formed at 1.102xx-4xx
On H1 TF buy signal is forming.

These are micro TFs, so political situations/twitter comments/etc can flush it away.
I'm not buying this level, just helps me keeping my longs and can give new low to set SL under it.
Time will tell.

Edit:
H4 TF sell signal at 1.106xx, however last Monthly/Weekly/Daily are still buy.

A plethora of tweets and comments in the last few hours from the Greek front. The EZ aiming all canons (with very strong words) to Greece as the weekend approach. Noteworthy this time because the "Rain Maker" has spoken (ECB) and he really put a direct threat to "Agree this weekend or face the back door".

As expected, markets only listen to Draghi/ECB (the only one "sane" in the drama) and Euro quickly back to 1.104x.... All cards on the table. A deal seems like a done deal for the weekend but the EZ is espcailly dubious this time after last week middle finger with the unexpected and unilateral referendum when a deal seemed to be already have been agreed...

Whatever the case, I keep my same view. Greece is noise in the middle (unless we have panic and blood in the streets) and is just delaying the flows for the real fundamentals in play (hikes) ... same levels, same trades, same all... tempted to top up intraday with NY ...I'll consider it in detail with the news later today...

talked about GREK here before - it was up 8+ % today. Another, prolly best proxy for Greek equity outlook generally is NBG - National Bank of Greece, ADR's trade on the NYSE, it is up 21% today. False hope?

We are just getting the first details of the Greek deal. Overnight and in complete gossip / soap opera mode like usual with the drama.

Greece will need a generation to recover the economy and a century to clean their reputation as a real serious country....

In any case, relief rally in the making for the next few sessions. Let's see how far we can go.....here sitting tight. Same levels, same trades, same All....

yep, big fat green US equity futures foretell a VIX crash into next week, I may have missed the sweet entry short there, but watch how fast UST's drop....I will be just so happy to get out from under the Greek drama gossip load....with the "binary" event finally out of the way, traders can line up their targets...

1.1 defended so far.
Closing Daily over 1.11113 will give buy signals on the MA system also.
If new high is coming [>1.14362], than it should be a sharp up move -> like in the first red square
Time will tell.

Still think it's just Greek noise in order to absorb long trades before the dive?

Some seriously emotive and impressive speeches from the European parliament. As usual, powerful arguments with the truth somewhere in between.

The short term impact of a Grexit too painful, harsh and unappetizing for every one involved so the path of least resistance is obviously putting the breakup on hold until further notice.

As for them being a viable member and whether it's to their own benefit or any one else's in the broader horizon is a completely different story.

Firm recovery from China so btfd's call spot on from the Fool and we've suddenly got clearer skies in the risk picture that was building up through the week.

As expected, relief rally across the board with a timid short term reaction in the euro [so far] (in comparison with the reaction across the board).

Absolutely. Only the FED will make me change my view not Greece....

Don't forget 1.116x is the breakout level on the weekend they announced the REFERENDUM so basically we are "UNCH" in the euro as for today !!!...

In any case, first credit where is due. Very well done on the very yummy leg from 1.090x. Good call and well play (I guess you already grabbed some at these levels...).

Second, crunching time for bears for the first time since the referendum was call: Stops unprotected with a break 1.114x with NY opening range (as it unlocks 1.124x/7x area) so tracking closely the euro for the weekly close... However no change of hearts yet here ... so sitting tight with same levels, same plays, same all...

Sadly I have executed trades earlier (where first [weaker] signals came), and I didn't want to over leverage the account.
But I'm happy with what I've got, dissatisfaction would cause trouble in management.

China stealing the show again this week. Insane moves only comparable to the Lehman days....these moves will bring a long tale across the world ....

In any case, summer early close in the making. We got pretty much all for this week. A very wide range moves that can end in a flat as pancake weeks of Greece referendum knee jerk reaction getting sell and new deal bought quickly ... We may avoid another wild volatile weekend if all arrangement for the Greek deal are cleared before the end of today...whatever the case they look like just formalities and technicalities now ...

Not much to see across the board. Tracking 1.110x/2x in the euro after Europe goes home and for the roll.
