I am curious about the settings in your indicator. You have 8, 17, 9 for your MACD setting, and you have 5 and 9 for your ema setting. My question is: are those numbers the numbers you use for your personal settings? Or, are those numbers just random numbers?

If I used every indicator I had coded for my own personal trading I would not be able to see the chart!
In answer to your question on the MACD settings YES I do use only those settings if I use MACD as they provide the quickest response without too many false moves the EMA periods are just a relatively common combination an EMA 3/8 combo is another common setup however the default built in indicator settings are the settings I have found to work best with the Signal Bars over the 9 years that Signal Bars has been used.

Thanks cja. I mainly wanted to be confirm that the indicator settings were not random numbers and that's why I had asked... Because, if they were random, then I was going to change them. However, now that I know for sure there was a purpose for the numbers in the settings, I will now give all the default settings a try before considering changing them.

As for everyone else here that has already used this indicator for any length of time, please share your experiences here with the indicator. I'm very interested to find out if it has been beneficial for others here.

Just want to say "Many Thanks" for this great program. I've had version 7 on my charts for years (just upgraded), and now it's just a part of my normal chart background.

Love the large price display.
Use the ATR and pips-from-open all the time.
Glance at the ribbon - mainly as confirmation.

cja, I'm not totally clear of what all the colors of the signal bars mean. I assume the Lime color means "buy" (or "up") and the Red color means "sell" (or "down"). However, what do all the other colors stand for? Can you please post a list of each color and explain what each one stands for?

Reading Post #4, I found that STR (maybe) is RSI, CCI and Stoch. Does the 3 blend all together to make STR bars in the indicator?

Has anyone else here had any problems with the Signal Bars indicator lately? The indicator is not working correctly and I don't know why. Here is my situation: I ordered a new computer from a company that makes computers specifically for people who trade (the computer is not specific for forex. It is for trading in general - it can be used for forex, stocks or whatever is being traded) and my new computer arrived at my house yesterday. I set up my computer and I downloaded a couple of MT4 platforms and I installed the Signal Bars indicator into each of the platforms ... along with a few other indicators. I then began to put the Signal Bars indicator on each chart (all of this was done yesterday while the market was closed). I noticed right away that the indicator (the Signal Bars indicator) was nothing but a blob of colors. Obviously something is now wrong with it of which wasn't wrong before. I thought the problem might have been related to the market being closed yesterday, but today I tried it when the market opened at 5 pm EST and the indicator STILL isn't working correctly.

What I want to know is: what is wrong? Is it not working correctly due to the new MT4 Build 910 that came out a few days ago?? Is anyone else here having problems with the Signal Bars indicator since the new MT4 Build was released? Or is my new computer messed up?

By the way, here are the stats of my new computer ... in case it might be useful for someone to diagnose the problem:

Processor: Intel Skylake Core i7-6700 @ 4.0 GHz with Turbo Boost
Motherboard: MSI B150 Gaming Motherboard
RAM: 16 GB Next Generation DDR4 RAM
Hard Drive: 240 GB Solid State Drive
Operating System: Windows 7

Anyways, is anyone else now having problems with the Signals Bars indicator (or any other indicator) since the new MT4 Build was released a couple of days ago?

The issue generally is the operating system ( Windows Vista/7/8/10 etc ) comes with a default font size to allow for easy touch screen functions and the default is larger than MT4 can handle. You will find if this indeed your problem that even the buttons on the standard MT4 windows are not aligned correctly.
IMPORTANT : reset the font size and save then restart your computer to apply the new settings.

Thank you for giving the solution to my problem. Yes, you were right - it was the font size that was causing the problem. I had set the font size from the default size of 100% to the medium size of 125% and that apparently caused the indicator to become a big blob of colors. I followed your advice and reset the font to the default 100% size and it now it working fine! I didn't know a few others here had previously posted about the same issue and you had already posted the solution to the problem. Anyways, thanks again.

CJA sir .... is there any update for Signal Bars ?? especially for XAUUSD and GOLD, the problem was in the spread sir ..

your Signal Bars is popular in Indonesia and many traders still used 4 digits broker ... ie : Mahadana, Millenium, Victory, InstaForex etc .

If you compare both you will notice one has 6 timeframes the other has 7 timeframes.

Hi, cja. Can I request Signal Bars indicator that combined with MTF Dashboard?
So there is signal bars with additional bars of SMA20, SMA10, SMA5, and STO533
And maximum timeframe as same as Signal Bars default, from M1 to D1.
See bottom right of the attachment image below for example :

You have a reasonable idea ( you idea duplicates one set of bars with the Signal Bars EMA so one of the Dashboard MAs would not be required ) however I do not have the spare time to spend coding in the extra bars as it is not a 5 minute job to do what you are requesting.

Is it possible to get the values of signal bars while back testing? Obviously colors won't be possible, but at least if valuse corresponding to numbers can be made available than would add a glory to back testing forex strategy.

Have actually tried Signal Bars on the Tester? The tester does not work perfectly on the higher timeframes but appears to work well on M1, the spread is fixed as a variable spread is not available through the tester but the other values and colours update.

Does it mean, if i try the signal bar indicator with manual strategy for back testing in Strategy Tester Mode, it will show exact colors as per past?
