Hi , I need to make a Basket chart for the AUD pairs, mixing opposite pairs like AUDUSD and AUDJPY with GBPAUD and EURAUD, trying to modify the Basket8 new format indicator but there is no way to get it, as I'm not a programmer and I don't understand well how the indicator works. Could anyone help me a little bit with this???....

Am not on my PC now, I have all the scripts, I will post AUD basket for you when am on my seat. That is if someone has not done it before me.

As for me, I am closing everything. I can always re-enter another time. This weekend MAY turn out to be too volatile PLUS...

I think it's better to be safe than sorry. But then again, this is just me.

Anyhow, we do NOT cry over pips we could have earned. We, instead, celebrate the pips we have earned! It's ALL good.

Kos, I check back from time to time and find your persistence unbelievable as well as your progress in successfully trading baskets. Started reading thread to make a sincere attempt to share in the success of your teachings. However, am slow reader and would appreciate any direction to get up speed sooner. If none, I will continue task of reading whole thread to show myself that I am committed.

Regardless, I am excited in this venture.

welcome back, before I finally settled for basket trading in H4, I did thorough search, I have tested all sorts of strategies, belonged to different types of closed and open groups, and as a coder I have coded a lot of systems, wasted a lot of time, money & efforts, received a lot of shocks and disappointment from single pairs trading, too much variables are involved in single pairs trading for me. My entry line was always the resistance or support and once tested price would run away from it with speed to the opposite direction, price always finds attraction to my stop-losses no matter how far they were. You are in AUDUSD trade, and feel not concerned with news event in EUR but it comes and wipe away the profit leaving you high and dry...

But each attempt to get better at single pairs trading (scalping or trend/swing trading, with or without indicator(s)) kept bringing me back to Basket trading especially the H4. I retrieved my trade history for like 3 years and analysed and discovered that the only time I see my equity curve going upward steadily is when I stuck to Basket trading for some months. Then I asked myself why was I looking for other ways when I know the way already. Then I answered myself I was looking for faster, way a shortcut sort of, I lacked patience, which is greatly needed to profit from the market, H4 seemed too slow, just six candles a whole day!. And unfortunately this is the debacle many traders face and a lot are unable to cross. I wish I had someone to give me this kind of advice in 2007.

So, I made up my mind that its either basket trading or quit. And whatever efforts am going to put in now is going to be on the improvement of basket trading, where stop-losses are far from being hunted by brokers, that is why am still here today, and that is why you see it evolving from one indicator to the other, but I hope you know its not the indicators, it is 75% you, the trader! And that also is why you see many people jump from thread to thread and finally they come to settle here. I receive mails like this your post every now and then from people like me....who later found the truth out.

Once again you are welcome, so far 10 C5 baskets this year and only one straight loss. About +6800 pips up, the year is at the middle, the party is just beginning. Please, join us, we are not many in this room, we are tired of testing all we do is trade the basket as it swings. Just set up your offline charts, its the same old way, pick tidane trend OR cciCustomBars indicator, if you want, pick the EA. splash them on your chart and lets roll.

if noofpairs = 5, it would mix AUDNZD, AUDCAD, AUDUSD, AUDJPY, EURAUD
if noofpairs = 7 it would mix All the AUD connected pairs. Just adding AUDCHF & GBPAUD to the above 5.

it worked, but am not very comfortable with the created offline chart.

also attached are the scripts to trade the pairs LONG or SHORT for full basket.

Kos, thanks for the reply...very much appreciated.

I think I got it although not sure what indy produces CCI Signal....tried T101_Core_5_CCI-zerocrss but did not attach to chart.

Anyway, here's my setup for next week to start...Rando

Edit...Found out I had old Kos offline chart so deleted old demo account and loaded fresh one so now my price is in line at 141.3960 so attached screenshot will be replaced with updated one shortly...Rando

Edit...this looks better although I do not know indy that keep color same as it trends up and down...any help is appreciated.

Thanks Kos. I have checking the basket indicator but unfortunately it doesn't work well because EURAUD and GBPAUD are not working in the same way as the rest of the pairs when creating the offline chart. If you create a chart whith the rest of the pairs (USD,JPY,CAD,NZD,CHF) last friday we had a movement of around 690 pips with candles with small wicks. Adding the EUR and GBP the movement should have been around 1350 pips for the day as the EURAUD and GBPAUD pushed vey high that day.

With your indicator and the 7 pairs the movement it's aroud 530 pips with big wicks in the candles, wich means that we are mixing movements up and down in the creation of the candle.

I'm not a programmer and I don't understand much about metatrader language, but when I open the Basket8 new format indicator in the editor I think it tryies to create the high/low/open/close of the candle as an averege of the pairs involved. I don't know if it's possible to make a function for the opposite pairs where the high should be the low, open should be the close and viceversa and then add this calculated values to the function that creates the candle so they can work in the same direction.

I don't know if I explained well what I meant to say, as English itīs not my mother language. I think that create an indicator that works with opposite pairs would be very interesting to catch movements of around 1300 pips as we saw last friday against AUD.

Boy!! This point your made is Golden indeed. Please if you are able to, re edit this and post on Page 1 as every visitor to your thread needs to read this. It will surely change many traders perspective to trading and their learning curve too. The Fact that you have made all the mistakes possible is key as it tells a story to every one how and why you settled for this system you have.

Are you guys still piling up the cash on that 4hr tidane trend basket?

Someone scream if this won't work but can change the TF of the EA from 240 to 60 just to get me in on a short basket? Then when I'm in, change it back to 240 and it will manage that basket basked on the 4hr going forward as 1hr was used just to get me in?

I might not need to do it now as we just bounced off support so we might be going back into a buy basket soon.
