Completely agree. Further deteriorating outlook for terms of trade, domestic economy not firing, expectations on US and AU interest rates - all point down for AUD. Re charting, pretty strong support zone approx. 75.5-76.5. I think the likelihood of a break down through 75.5 quite high this time.

I am aggressively short with a hold timeframe of weeks. See more downside risk than upside risk through the Greek weekend and will hold through.

Looks like I'm the only one buying AUD at current level 0.7585, I'm expecting EUR/USD to go up after the Greek referendum which will drag AUD/USD up along with it, also Tuesday good chance of RBA holding rates so more reasons for AUD to go higher.
We will be back to 0.7700 levels by Tuesday.

funny thing those greeks. word gets out that they are leaving and the euro goes up. then they are back in the mix and it drops lol

Hi All,
I think the damage to the AUD has been done already for the day. If anything it will be sideways with low liquidity and volumes for the rest of the day today. Calendar is pretty much empty and US markets will be closed today. Being 4th of July and Greek saga on Sunday, I would not be holding any trades short trades over the weekend. We just saw 75.7 being aggressively rejected which is the 100% of FE of the last fall and rise on Daily.
Any how whatever trade you are in Good Luck and Happy Trading

Chinese cutting rates EU AU NZD YEN actively discounting their currencies and what do we get from Feds? IR hike and more USD verbal talk up.
Did Yellen and company figured that Having strong currency in the sea of discounted ocean your chance of selling a product is close to zero?
Did Yellen and company figured OIL 50-55 a barrel is detrimental to thousands of good paying jobs going down the drain along with Steal and manufacturing?
Did Yellen and company publish REAL unemployment numbers? Nope! 93Million Americans stopped looking for jobs highest since 1977 and we got clowns flashing 5.3% rate forgetting massive underemployed and nonparticipating labor force.
Yes YELLEN read my post!!! and know that I want you replaced to save USA!from total collapse!

Thanks for sharing your view Davit. I've been guessing that that's the case though I haven't been able to make sense of the reason - maybe they want to keep USD high for the summer period to get a better US trade balance through tourism? I'm trying but I don't see any other advantages to the high USD as of this moment...

With Elections coming up constant BS numbers is getting irritating.Dems what you to believe economy is doing fine but its not the case not even close.
What is funny that even Feds themselves are "puzzled" why cheap oil has not had the effect they anticipated.
Goes to show they are gamblers.It does not take PHD's to see that your competition is highly actively discounting to stay competitive and Feds are doing totally opposite verbally talking up every minor "good news"
This is just not smart plainly.

I'm not sure a high USD would lead to better US trade balance through tourism - I'm no economist but believe that would only happen if demand was inelastic. In reality a high USD would just make tourism in US more expensive so some would go elsewhere instead.

I am with you, my long limit order that I didnt expect would be activated just got hit at 75.6. Its the end of channel, if it breaks through south, then 75.04 is the next level. Will monitor carefully.
