to watch the broad market not the individual stocks. Think or Swim and TC2000 are both good platforms for stock and market analysis. I read a good book
about 2 years ago, just when I was thinking of giving the whole thing up and going back to work. Its call "A complete guide to Volume Price Analysis" by Anna
Coulling. It changed everything for me and I am now consistently profitable. Give it a read. It may help. Best of luck

Make your losses in demo. Earn your profits live.
We need suckers to profit so its good that we have new traders for stocks. That way we can suck all your money. hehe
So what you need is to demo it first and get the feel. Treat it as if its real. Apply good MM and make sure you cut your losses early. In trading you must look to defend first then when your out of the danger zone focus on where to exit. Every trade open, treat it as danger zone and be quick to get out if it does not prove your premise. Its painful on entry but good feel in exit. Enter at times when it is very uncomfortable, there lies the opportunity ahead from others rather than chasing a trade. When you enter when it moves much when you are still waiting for confirmation, you are the weak hand the prey the late comers. We need to be decisive specially if your HFT trader.

Hi mate. I use CMC Markets and ProRealTime for stocks & cfd's. Check em out. I was with IG but thought it was rubbish (just my opinion), and i do still hold a commsec account which is meh. I've got nothing but good things to say about both prt and cmc, you can start for free with prorealtime using end of day data if you want to get a feel for it before committing. CMC (and i think Saxo) don't hold your cash either, so if something does go tits up your cash deposit is safe. Everyone wants something different from their broker and what I've outlined...
