Spotting fake STP / ECN

I was wondering, if there's a way to spot fake STP / ECN brokers that are actually "playing against you" ? other than giving requotes obviously

With MT4 its very fast execution.

Its called B-Booking where no trades actually get executed by Banks or Lp's.

Market making is different .. Market makers actually make a market by spreading or skewing the price to the client and then allow execution to the banks and Lp's.
Remember banks and non banks are market makers as well.

STP is direct execution to the Banks and Non Banks.

ECN is direct execution to banks, non banks and other customers in the trading pool.

They mark up their clients with an inbuilt commission- The MT4 brigade

While I agree with him on spikes, if the spread widen sometimes doesn't mean the broker is a MM, it may depend on low liquidity..

Agreed. Most brokers are market makers but hedge your trades so they are "risk neutral". They say they send your trades to their LP through the "interbank market" but they really don't. They state this plainly in their PDS.
