for e.g.

Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Base - ami-8fd3f9bf or Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Base - ami-43c2e873 (64-bit) / ami-11cee421 (32-bit)

Just give me a name and I will set up it.

That is a very leading question. Can I give you an example, I once had to read about 50 pages of post to give 3 line answer about back testing Renko Charts.

Question regarding trading a set file for a new week. What is the suggested rule of thumb to run a setup?

Eg, say for next week, is it best to just run last 3 months best set we can find while optimizing and every week the start date shifts forward a week, so its always 3 months, or always just from 1st jan and every week, the opt files set period just gets greater and we run with that setting ?

On a monthly basis I run optimizations based on the most recent 3 months.

If starting up from scratch, use the last 3 months data from time of start.

just one clarification regarding trailing stop loss, on your guide you say:

UseTrailingStopLoss - 0 is to deactivate, 1 for the stop loss to trail the profit peak by the stop loss value and close out at profit peak - Stop Loss pips. The update is made every 5% jump in profit.

it means that, with TakeProfit set to 100, buy trade, each 5 pips in gain the SL goes up? I understood this stuff, but the EA behaviour looks different :-(

It is not quite that simple. The wager size is determined by the exchange rate and the 5% is dependant on that. I have reproduced the formula below.

CurrProfitTarget = OrderProfit() + (Wager / Close[0] * .005 / PointValue);

Forex Factory is a great example of the invaluable resources available. Have you looked at some of the great dashboards that are currently being presented? Some of them are absolute works of art. What about all the trading ideas. Have a look at this website http://forex-strategies-revealed.com.

There is no shortage of information but why aren't we rich? In my opinion, the answer is implementation.

Discipline and sound money management. By sound money management, I don't mean set a SL and TP and forget. Please revisit Post #526
The current 56 optimizations and the additional PSAR Strategy are all running on my profile page. Some could be improved with additional money management optimization factors. One of them is performing quite poorly and certainly at this point is not recommended for live trading.

What I'd like you to do is to set up numbers of demo accounts on VPS's (there are free ones - see Post #1). There is no limit to the number of demo accounts your broker provides. Pick the eyes out of your trialling strategies and live trade the performers.

What do you have? No emotion, sound money management with advanced trade handling and performing strategies. Do not overflog your good strategies because you will get burnt. Treat this as a passionate hobby with an unlimited amount free tools at your disposal and use them.

Hi Dave,

I'm using the VPS you suggested and I've been triailing different optimizations and indeed I've found that money management is the key. Once I get a trade in profit I expect some return and that is the key. Never let a winning trade lose profit. With this in mind I've been getting good results. Taking the emotion out of trading is also the key for me to better trades. Thanks for your amazing optimizer & EA.

I kindly ask if you can help me out.
I have two problems:
1. I tried to install the framework 3.5 on win xp and win on the server but does not complete the installation, giving error.
2. Strategy Optimizer after clicking "Start Optimization" me error "Unhandled exception has occurred in you application. Etc .. Conversion form string" 2 "to type 'Single' is not valid". "
