UNG up 6% today, I am always late to the banquet...

Hi TF... lot to do, no trading... Took some money on DAX this week, but small. Some epic moves there.
Almost nothing on account now, I did made a 5-6 good trades in a row, but closed CL put to quickly obviously, and those SPY bear calls also, hmm... maybe, just maybe this shit can finally fall a little... I just hate when a credit play with 45 DTE doesn't give any result in 30 days, and spends majority of that time negative. Short the rip for tomorrow... Overall, it could be much better, but OK... hmm... selling into the close... I f... knew it, and still closed tha DAX short too early... pff... Still time to learn how to milk a good trade, I suppose.

well, let us say, I am feeling fortunate, but I still need to ride big raft of short SPY May calls for at least another week, I like to take them to near expiry if I can, let em get down to 2c or so....I felt like I knew this dip was coming when I saw UST's selling off after the FOMC. Same old fear the Fed noise. Hope I don't have to eat crow.

WTI, on the other hand, is a little too hot, would like to see it slow down so my May USO $20 and $21 calendars can finish fat.

FSLR pinned on $60, with a $4.1x exp move, but IVR is a slug...idk

taking a chance on a May2/May $55 put calendar, trying to fill for $0.14

switched for a May2/May $53 puts calendar for $0.07, betcha last money gon be a stone gas honey, looking at the calls....

$67 calls @ same date are too much at $0.13

no fill, let it ride til the close, just a few lots, too many scorch marks on my arse from these ER trades..

the poor Fool's way to shadow this big dog would be a Jun/Jun5 $120 call calendar for $0.15 - that breaks even down around $116 at expiry

...the quarterly options offer some good opps for the irremediable spreader

While I'm waiting for the markets to adjust post-FOMC (my f'd up fx trades are a gigantic cluster right now), I set up a paper trading TOS account just to get a feel for the platform and to kind of make sure I have some sense about what the hell I'm doing, threw on a bunch of strangles just for kicks ... .

But I also thought I'd throw on a couple of directional trades just for kicks, selling a June 15 111 Call in FXE for .87 and a June 15 13 Call in OIL for .25 (probs shoulda done verticals with those). I'll be pissed if those TastyTrade guy's FXE bullish FXE trade works out; looked like total crap to me at the time ... . My notion on the short call in OIL is that we're kind of in the mid to late December consolidation area on WTI ... . Not expecting much out of either of those; will bail on temporary movement in my fave ... .

On a more practical level, do you guys get fills in the "After Hours" markets? I know it's basically illiquid during those times ... .

Hey there TF-yeah been keeping to myself for a while, but like to pop in from time to time. Got a lot of people who like my indi, but don't like to post on my thread so...

Always a pleasure to read your stuff-been slowly trying to absorb the basics of Options, just your thread, TT, and Wiki for now. Good to keep expanding those horizons.
Kind of weird and amazing how segregated Spot Fx is from everything else in the way it gets traded, apart from some overlap on fundies.

let's see, they sold Jun FXE $105/$100 puts when FXE was at $106.81, for $0.97 credit, and today FXE is at $110.3x, and that trade is worth $0.36 (they've netted >60%), so typical tt style, that trade has definitely worked out & I won't be surprised if they squeeze another dime out of it at the most and then bail. Several of their best vids go into trade management, i.e., when is the best time to get out of a winning trade, for instance, and they use some statistics on backtested trades to show that it doesn't pay to wait around to get the last dime out of a trade.

Now, on small trades, personally, I will often try to let credit spreads go to expiry if/when they are in profit, just to save on the ridiculous comms I pay in my cash accounts. If it is a larger trade and I am tying up a lot of margin, I will not wait an extra week or 2 to make an extra dime. I am trading from 4 active accounts and I have my hands full just keeping enough active trades running, so it's not a big deal for me to let some margin languish a while. It would be different if I were a full-time trader.

re: "after hours" fills, I have been told by the trade desk minions that there is no after hours for options trades. Most of the time, if I have open "good for the day" trades working, they will get kicked into the "expired trades" bin shortly after the bell rings. However, I have had trades that appear to have been filled 10 minutes or so after the bell. So....
