Hi Fartist. Great thread and trading strategy. I like your video analysis. Your post 985 is very true indeed as I follow a trend trading strategy as well and I have months go by without being profitable then all of a sudden BANG, I catch a good trend and within a short space of time I'm back in the black.

Anyways you say that you trade for a prop firm. Do you trade the same trend trading strategy there as well? Assuming not as you would be sitting around not doing much most of the time if following a trend trading strategy right?

Yes you will see periods of whipsaws and whipsaws before something big occurs. During the whipsaws is where one needs to survive it.

Yes i adopt the same approach with my firm, however i have the liberty to trade from home. Thus i go about doing other stuff on my own.

Most prop firm traders are scalpers or intra day traders so i don't want to mislead you down here.

Hey Fartist, Just wondering how does your prop firm go about paying your salary since your not profitting on a monthly basis by using this trend following system, do they review your statement on a yearly basis and write you a big cheque instead?

I'm being paid at the end of each year.

It's just like any other business.

The thing about trend following is trading the higher time frame requires a longer period of time for your edge to play out.

Thus there will be months you will not be making and you have to look at the big picture, the next 10,000 trades.

It's more of a wealth building mechanism rather than trying to replace your regular income and i always encourage those with a full time job to adopt a trend following approach.

- You ignore the higher time frame (Daily)
- Your entries are too late

With regards to the Natural Gas trades, I've my own trading plan and simply followed it accordingly.

My way for defining the higher time frames differs from yours and honestly there's no right or wrong here.

But still glad to see you have your own way of interpreting and thank you for sharing your analysis.

Nzd/usd 4h, daily,weekly, all are under 50 ema and broke daily trendline.

I sold it ,do you think is it ok?

Hey Fxmh,

I can't comment much on it because i don't know what your trading plan is.

Every time you put on a trade it has to be guided by a set of rules that you have set for yourself aka trading plan.

I don't think it's fair for me to comment as it may affect your trading decisions later on, and honestly my opinion isn't important compared to the plan you have laid out for yourself.

If you do not have a trading plan yet, I would encourage you to start doing on as it keeps your trading more objective.

Let me know if you need help developing one.

What i laid out here in this thread is more of a guiding set of principles traders can follow.

There are few parameters which you can look to tweak and suit your needs, like the entries exits and risk management.

So it's only when you have a clear trading plan on when to enter and exit, then you can refer back and see if you are following according to your trading plan.

My trading plan and yours will be different because of our personality. But in terms of trading principles, yes we both can adhere to these same principles.

First of all, I should say BIG thank to you, the most kind person, Fartist. You give us a such good system. I have read the whole thread just now, and it coste me several days . I will aply the sys to my trading. Sorry for my poor English. I can't express my Feeling. Thanks again. I will put the chart on when I have trades.
