Hey Mystic,

Another way to help is to build yourself a rule-set based on the mistakes that you have diagnosed. For example many of my professional fellow-traders have have a rule that they don't hold positions overnight. Its a simple rule - they close out at a pre-planned time. They trade indices so its a little easier, but the reason is that they want a good nights sleep without stress of worry and they recognise that overnight positions cause stress. So instead of going head-to-head with the prospect of trying to beat it, they take the easier route and avoid that mental confrontation so they can muster mental strength and focus for the next day's battle.

Hi mystic, congratulations on your journal. I like your honest self-appraisal, and especially how youre developing insights about self-sabotage.

Id suggest to you to focus on psychological clearing, and start using trading as a tool for self-development. You seem to have too many internal conflicts which need to be addressed. I speak from personal experience, I was addicted to trading, so my advice comes from the heart.

Your lack of discipline will eventually always catch up with you, as it did with me (and others). If you pause and think about it, then you'll realise that a written plan will be just an academic exercise unless youll have the discipline to follow it. However having a written plan with rules is definitely a good start, thats for sure.

You admit to having prosperity conflicts (so do I), you also seem to find either bit of excitement in trading or an escape through trading, and therefore perhaps dealing with the underlying issues (whatever they might be) would be the best place to start re-inventing yourself. That's what Iv'e learned from my past struggles. I wish you success with your trading.
