the servers are stable and I could not see over the past two weeks that the servers have been turned off for a short time. Not even in the minutes of important news of Fed or the ECB. everything ok, I think. But ETX closes on Friday least one hour before the market.

I checked out the thread today, as I received another e-mail today, as most others I guess. The question was asked at the beginning but I didn't see it answered, (honestly I read only the 10 first and the twenty pages at the end, not the 280 in between )

I had 5 accounts with Alpari UK and all trades were stopped on 17.01, two were in a light plus two were in a heavy minus (which is normal in that kind of trading) so it summarizes to 1300 Eu loss, when they closed the accounts. So just wondering if I could do anything about that, and eventually have the whole issue pending until......who knows.
I guess best option is to get the remaining 20K back to the bank account.

Dear Forum DUDES

I've been silently watching/reading this thread from the start of this issue.
Has been very much a roller coaster mind bending time!
Portal done and FSCS chosen.
I'm in UK but will NEVER use UK broker again.
GlobalPrime and Pepperstone for me, including any other good .au ECN broker...
Money will be regularly withdrawn and (haHaaa) stashed in my mattress :-))

Please accept my sincerest thank you's for helping me cope.

You sure? They're kinda new, and RealECN even has some scam reports. You can find that on Google.

But how do you think Australia brokers are any good?
Anything really advantageous choosing?
Not saying UK is that good, but at least FSCS let clients of regulated UK brokers to have their money back, and they have guarantee of 100% fund protection for accounts under 50k.

Read many reviews talking about "RealECN scam"...
Not sure whether those are 100% real or not, but if I were you, I'd move the funds from RealECN to Pepperstone.

i am sure. Real ECN is a broker from New Zealand. In irregularities a broker in New Zealand would get immediate problems with the regulatory authority. In contrast to the UK New Zealand authorities are very fast, hehehe. And: Alleged scams can be found online to each broker and every bank. Every second new traders lose money in trading. And some do not see the blame themselves, but argue that the broker would be a fraud.

Australia and New Zealand to work fast. New Zealand guaranteed for 200000 NZD (more then 100000GBP). When in January had a New Zealand broker in bankruptcy, customers had their money after two or three weeks. Not in 4 months.

Maybe FSCS reimburse all funds, good if they do. Personally, between FSCS, KPMG and the general UK derisory attitude towards the little man I just could not stand another Alpari like scenario.
In the end, who what and where, broker selection is all very personal decision making, yes?
I say this because each person must vote with their wallet.
Forums/listsOfBrokers/ratings/... are of course their to help/confuse the seeker.
What is the saying? "Ya pays yer money and ya takes yer choice!" seems appropriate in the broker selection issue

hahaha, no. So far, I always get my money very quickly. There was never a problem with RealECN.

Okay, I'll take some bucks to try RealECN later, thanks for the information.
So there's not any guarantee like this for traders under Australian brokers?

I don't fully agree on this.
There're solid facts as input for this kind of decision making, not simply "personal decision making", not some apple or orange preferences.
Just like muckele1 reminded me that I missed the fact that New Zealand also has fund guarantee for traders under New Zealand brokers.

Australian Broker and New Zealand brokers are regulated. As with other sums as in the UK. Who wants to spend a great deal must trade at a German broker or a German bank. German banks guarantee without limit or in an area of many millions of euros.

You should try the same process in Australia... it will be the same thing, possibly even with KPMG, the only difference would be that the government doesn't guarantee anything so the loss is entirely yours. Any bankruptcy process will be similar to this. The broker in New Zealand didn't go into administration, that's why money was paid out quickly. If you think a bankruptcy case would be very different anywhere I wish you good luck...

papamax has right, pay attention on what are you saying guys about the situation on Excel Market was a totally different situation.

They never put an insolvency process and it's easy to explain why they didn't.

Cause like in uk, nz broker must split account company from clients money.

So they simple gave back money to all customers before to enter in a big loss insolvency process.

And anyway for one of the most big broker in the world like Alpari UK with over 100k acc. An insolvency process ended in 4-5 months with 100% of money back (maybe more than 100% for exchange time) i think we should say thanks to stay in the right side of the knife. Cause we never know how much will take NZ or AUS for give back money in a formal insolvency process.

Said that if i should find a new broker for put more than 10k surely i will go again with an FSA protected broker and refunded by FSCS.

Aussi and NZ brokers use segregated accounts, but read the fine print. When Go Markets fist started they said segregated funds may be used in bankruptcy. Now says not. Also, I don't know if there is anything like the FSCS, to guarantee up to 50k.
