Just seen this video where the presenter advocates using the minimum of indicators - Fibs and trend-line. Less is more

I agree 100 % . Good video. His main point is ... " to wait for the right moment and then take a trade" But right moments not always found on empty charts.

Good timing and small stop can be important for some too...

You always looking to learn which is so positive.

Try trading without a chart focusing on breaks of 00 and 50. Sounds mad but you'll be surprised.

Hi all, I have seen some really good comments posted.
Different people trade different ways,
Some like to trade frequently some less, some want many pips some (ME) only need a few. some like clutter and some don't.
As long as you get what you want we will all be happy.

This chart shows Friday 17th April , On it you will see nothing only a high line and a low line,
If the high or low is broken I will trade it. forget it is sunday gap etc.
Look how many pips could of been made if you kept hold.. Be good all


edit,,, If the high/low of Friday candle is broken I will trade it not the levels , (for the lurkers)

Trading, I didn't post any stats last week so here we go.
From 1st Jan 2015 until Fri 17th April.
E/J Daily breakout trades,,, 87 trades,,, 76 wins and 11 losses that is approx. 87% strike rate....
G/J Daily breakout trades,,, 87 trades,,, 82 wins and 5 losses that is approx. 94% strike rate.
Yes we had retraces but this can be traded.
I do not trade G/J but this looks a good pair, I have traded most of the E/J trades and I normally say when I do not.

Claudia, good call on cable, I thought it would of dropped a bit first but the daily break high was good and the other clues were good, nice 1, you get a merit badge.

Hi Turnip, I agree less is more but like I say different people ,different approach.
As for your video, the guy speaks about simple but he is a director of technical analysis????? tells a tale lol.

This chart is actually quite significant as it can actually move up or down 150 points to next level if you keep hold, Obviously look for clues

It broke lows last week before retrace. More down test those lows ?

Have a look at g/u - finding a resistance level daily off previous support and double toppish on 4h. Clues ?

Edit: Do we have 'shooting star' on daily as pointed out on cable thread. lol I dunno but it looks sell. Agree Naokia.

Could be fun here next week. If we see weakness in sterling then this will go so quick. Obvious support level down there but ... can be smashed by this thing easy.

True - he is biased towards promotion of himself but if one uses common sense, read what the more experienced here and elsewhere write and experiment, the statement that "less is more" seems to be a trading truism. One ends up trading your own approach after much experimentation and tribulation but to rely on other peoples commercial analysis ( in other words paying for it) then all one does, in most cases, is fill the pockets of those who talk a good trade but invariably cannot trade their way out of a toffee bag

I might, at times, find trading mentally tiring, but I feel I am in full control of my destiny, as opposed to relying on some non trading "guru."

I look at Claudia's one minute trades, among others, plus a few (very few) other approaches around here, and realize the road to full competence is a long one. But at least it is a journey that now shows a little profit.
