It was a good trade but the reversal can be frightening.. But did you notice the inside bar before the break of pivot, that was a clue. I know it is hour chart but that pivot is important so an ib becomes a good clue. and no I didn't trade it lol

Turnip,,,i find if you can get in on the retrace you can keep your SL tight if it goes against you, but you can most times get back in and more than cover your loss on the next one,,,,,,

excellent method, I think swing mentioned this. I do it as well but only when I am trying to correct a bad trade, I did it earlier.

Pip - I am an old git but I like pictures. Could you draw an illustration of what you mean please ? Would it be an entry cutting back through the pivot line and/or bouncing off the pivot? Sorry for being a bit dense.

Logging out now. Have to take little grandson swimming (Well, he splashes me a lot). Back later guys. Good thread this-I see one thread trades one minute bars !!! That would cause my remaining hair to turn even grayer. Keep it simple -I bet that is the approach that most people who have been trading a while return to.

From 1st January 2015 excluding today....
We have had DAILY BREAKOUT E/J 63 TRADES,,, 53 WINNERS,,,10 LOSSES,,,, 13 INSIDE BARS
That is approx. 88% strike rate.
It isn't easy but if you have a plan. actually they then should read 52 winners and 11 losses.



edit ,,,these stats are for 10 pip profit


edit,,,, I changed the 63 wins from 62.

edit yet again, the stats are from 01/01/15 until 02/03/15, I will show upto date in a new post

Billy will no doubt write regarding your question directed at him. However, before he does here is my mere two pence on the matter.
11 losses -Not a problem. More winners than losers and managing your losses is what counts. You cannot win them all -no one can. Billy trades profitably so he is happy. Read his posts and you will discover where (if he does at all) he uses stops.

I have read them all. My point here is, that you have to use a big account vs lot size if not using stop losses in this strategy in order to avoid erasing all profits with those 11 losses. Just want to know if there is an initial stop loss or something and his procedure to recover those losses.

Hello, 15 minutes until the next day here in the UK and then we shall hopefully do it all again..
The inside bar was broken long and I am surprised it did not go further but lets see what happens Wednesday (perhaps a drop)

Hello and a good question.
For my own personal statistics I use a 20 stop for a 20 take profit or 1/1. I did this when I traded properly (for a living). and Compounded a lot.
I still use a 20 stop even for a 5 pip tp for my statistics.
Trouble is once a trade starts to go against me I adjust the stop and then hedge, counter trade, add on to make it right. The losses I quoted were probably traded good by me, I have had 2 losses this year which I have mentioned.
and yes, you need a big bank roll.
It is over kill and like I have said many times it can be put into a scenario where in a battle you would use x amount of people to capture a machine gun post. You will have casualties but the gun post will be taken.
I do this for fun now. Be good and trade well.

I forgot,,,, I will say I got 7 so that is 40% extra. These extra pips can be used for free trades and even help counter losses.
As long as I have more at the end of the day that is what matters.

I took a look at cable as well lol.

Turnip, I only just saw your chart.
It was the inside bar just before the pivot, that was a decent clue.
