Hello everyone,

I know this all has been told previously, but I need to make some questions to keep calm.
I have an account in Alpari for 28,300.45 €, I had open transactions during the 15th and 16th of January.
Do I need to send a Retail Client's Statement of Claim if I don't have the intention of vote on 12th March? Or have I to wait until have access to the complaint portal?

Just another one: I'm living in Spain so I can't go there to vote and I don't have any person who can be my proxy, there is any way to vote?

I think it is not necessary if you don't want to vote on 12th March but, anyway, I'm in the same case and I decided to send the Statement of Claim by email today.

working my way through the flood of kpmg documents and updates bless them for doing it all for bread crumbs.
made me realise I am clearly in the wrong business, oh well.. next life then.

We are all reply disheartened by what has happened to Alpari customers and all those suffering huge financial loss after the Jan 15th SNB news. Don't let them all get away.....take 30 seconds to sign the petition

I received an email from them today with the link to access the claims portal.

Guys, shall I go with FSCS or KPMG for my claims? I really don't know which is better.
I don't live in the UK. Does it make any difference if I choose FSCS?

I am also in the same situation. I think that with FSCS is possible to get money faster, but I have read somewhere, that they send money by cheque.

that is now your new balance, trades open on or after the 15th may be subject to change, I.e. Final closing prices may differ, and so will your final balance

They are still processing account information - there are people that didn't have open trades that still have not received access to the portal.
So there's those to process, plus all the others that had open trades.
First indication they gave was that it would possibly be done by the end of the month - they will surely give an update about the status.
So if you didn't receive it, you still might later.

If you want to vote on the meeting, without having access to the portal, you must send the claim form, the proxy form and your last account statement.
The claim form is to provide an estimate of the value, for voting purpose (voting power is proportional to the money we had).
If you are a professional client, choose the correct forms for professionals.

It's already quite clear that negative floating balances won't be refunded - all open trades (negative or positive) have been closed by Alpari, and what they will be reviewing is the price at which they were closed - that might change (for better or for worse? I don't know).

You only need to send the claim form if you want to Vote. Otherwise just wait to be contacted!


As for negative floating positions you won't be able to claim. All you can claim is the balance after positions was closed! They have the right to close positions in these circumstances as per terms and conditions everyone accepted when opening an account. We have been through that before in the thread.
