i see that the decision(flag limit) is a break than a retest can someone approve or dissaprove?

Hello everyone. I have not had the time to read through the 1400+ pages which this discussion has, but after reading the last few pages (4) it appears to me that the posting has been more of a "bash fest" instead of a productive one. If I may simply get the thread back on track, I would like to simply add that although a 100% win rate is great, the reality is one could win less then 35% of the times and still turn a very decent profit.

I try not to get to theoretical as I don't find it to be productive at all, but looking at what the O.P. has posted, simply taking positions on engulfing of candles, and thus respecting the engulf can result in less then 50% win rate, while allowing you to secure + % change. I'd like to know how many people here actually trade the 30 min or lower tf and use engulfing patterns to identify either "reversals" or "extensions".

It's much better in my view to just stick with a very simple picture. "decision(flag limit)" and various other phrases and acronyms will only serve to confuse.

Price goes up, it goes down, or it consolidates - remember it does not go sideways!

Consolidations (ranges, wedge shapes etc) are broken in the end. No point going into the minutiae of current M15 EURAUD price action. Hopefully the simple chart will do all the talking, however, the decision to breakout (to the best of my understanding) starts at the white arrow. The final push occurs at the orange circle.

Running through gold chart with a friend and its moves today, gives us something to think about.

It would be interesting to find out what you see at these two highs if you zoom in on a 5 min chart.

Be great to see some marked up 5 min charts and of course what else is to consider that is not actually on the chart but matters a whole heap.

Be great to compare what we see that is different or the same.

Hello. Would you guys please be able to post your charts, with daily pivots attached to them. The reason why I am requesting you do so, is because I've noticed most of those wicks occur at daily pivots, and after engulfs we get the reversals. Most people pick what would be pivot points as support/resistance levels, and place pending orders at those prices not allowing for an engulf to occur. Allowing an engulf to occur would be CONFIRMATION that a reversal is about to begin. Would you agree or disagree on that statement highlighted in bold?

Yes just like that. I was told years ago that 1 minute chart was just noise, i know now that statement was utter rubbish.
