Its not rocket science, its not neurosurgery either. Its freaking leverage.. People should be jumping up and down for leverage.. I wish I'd get leverage every aspect of my life lol Inject leverage into my life please.

All I know is just reading all this makes my head hurt. ... If I actually had to "think" about it everyday? ... ... lol

A lot of folks are largely visual and "hands on" learners. So here's a thought to explain it all easily for them.

Open 3 demo accounts all with the same deposit. #1 at 50:1, #2 at 200:1 and #3 at 500:1

Mirror them together (for the new folks that means placing a trade on one account will place the exact same trade on the other two) Then simply trade. You'll see very quickly what leverage versus position (lot size) will do to your available deposit.

This is going to get real difficult now, as we are having an extremely difficult time explaining the definition of leverage, now here is another kind.

So I am assuming your definition of position leverage is position size/equity. that would be definition of risk.

Great explanation, Chris. If starting with the same deposit and opening the same trade sizes, equity will be the same in all three. leverage doesn't change a thing. Once again showing leverage = position size/ used margin, nothing less , nothing more. The only difference will be there may be trades you cannot open with your 50:1 NFA regulated broker because you don't have enough free margin

By the way, Chris. I funded TradersWay Thursday. Very impressed. Other than the obvious restriction free conditions, spreads, commission and execution are also better than any US broker. Only made 20% today, albeit with a deposit that wouldn't have even allowed me to open any of the position sizes I traded today if it was a US broker.

The shit they did in the U.S I don't trade with U.S Brokers not that their is much to pick from even if I wanted to, plus as I've always said you never had the "security" you were promised by the regulators. They are as good as an expired warranty.

I have to say thus far I like them. As I mentioned, I intend to keep a running review in my thread. Life will be a bit complicated for me over the next month but I'm hoping I can do it maybe weekly until the full experience has been covered.

Which account structure did you choose?

Very nice on todays gains brother. I only had time for a couple trades today. A measly 7%. I missed yesterday all together with that "complicated" crap I referred to above.

If the regulators were created and paid by the people and not the banks, it would likely be a different thing. Albeit, maybe not much.

Yes, another one. My goal is for everyone to trade offshore. Let the NFA reach it's goal of no forex brokers in the US. You are correct, they have destroyed the competitive market in the US. You are correct, no good options, even if you wanted to deposit 10-15 times more than necessary. We have 2 market makers, a former market maker turned NDD who just lost 225 million, an ECN whose spread are 3-4 times what I get offshore and two brokers requiring 10K, which is really what you need with any of them due to the margin regulations anyway. Notice I did not use the term leverage.

I'm using MT4.ECN, I would have like to try Ctrader, but the spreads seemed tighter on MT4. Especially GBPNZD, was like 14 on CTrader vs 3.8-5 on MT4. I think they perhaps have less liquidity providers on CTrader, not sure. Chatted with Joe today, he said they have like 30 liquidity providers and always looking to add, so that's a good thing. Amazing how you can accomplish in a day what takes 2 weeks in the US, oops, here comes that leverage thing again.

Yeah, I was a bit bummed by the GN (my favorite ) spreads. But given the distance she covers in a day (in more normal market conditions then we've had since Christmas), the spread is a small factor over all. She's not a scalping pair for me. I'm always looking for the runners on it.

It's funny, I've used nothing but MT4 since day one for my live trading so of course I'm very comfortable with it. I've used about every other platform there is under demo conditions to test the apps. With a few tweaks that I've sent to Joe and he's forwarded to Spotware, I think cTrader could grab a very substantial portion of the market. Capable of doing it all with a very small system resource footprint is the best of both worlds IMHO. I think it's almost there.

Nice to hear about the LP's. Thus far I really do see quite a bit of evidence that TW is working hard to simply provide the best open "portal" to the market for folks.

You can always open a cTrader demo to check out the platform. I've seen no difference between the demo and live. As of yet.
