What about the pending open orders??

there will be always some so thats a part of trading. As ea run 24 hours/5 days so i always have open trades...

but what is the $ value of open orders against your profit of $34 & $ 155?

I manage DD myself. Max DD in any grid system is a blown account so let be clear on this.

So 4 pairs would go like this. Say you have 20k

open first pair Eur/USD only
lot will be .04 on verion 1.1 and 1.0

as I make my first 5K I will now add my second pair at .01 lots

Next 5k add 3rd pair

and so on.

Now when you have all 4 pairs (I like EU, AU, NU, GU), each feed each other to build up lots like a pump station


If you are not going to use the option to hedge all the time, this is what you do

EUR/USD in uptrend on version 1.1 and we have a DD building grids and we get a trend change but our target is still open.
We would leave version 1.1 active until our target price is taken out. It will continue to build grids in the direct we are stuck in. Never close this!
You will cut individual grids if you DD is exceeding 20% (this is what I have been testing). If you do the lots right that very hard to hit. I had been doing some extreme lot sizes in my testing trying to push it to the limit but the 5k per 0.01 will keep you sane.



So now at trend change, you open 1.0 in the direction of the trend

if 1.1 is in DD then 1.0 is getting profits and vice versa

Now say 1.1 hit target. You uncheck allow active trading, and leave 1.0 following the Community trend signal from 1.1

At trend change you turn 1.1 back on and repeat.



On friday I start disabling the EA well before end of trading day



For the idea of leaving both on (What I do)

All adjustment will be only on 1.0 to be sure it's hedging 1.1

Trend change at time will have both taking trades in the same direction if you are not monitoring. These are not fully automated ideas. They must be managed. So I will cut the few non hedged trades on 1.0 and set it correctly against 1.1 Sound tedious but it's not bad for me. Quite easy. Or if they are in the same direction and close to TP I will let the TP on 1.0 get hit before correction the trade direction setting.



Closing time.

Maybe you can try them at a certain time of day and test that out. 6-8 hours or such if you looking to close trading daily

Most targets are hit in the US session. One good DD grid a day pays well!


If you find both 1.1 and 1.0 have open tp at trend change, Do nothing as they are still hedged. Wait for a TP to get hit before taking action.


Chart below shows this situation. AU trend changed, but trades still open. When a TP is hit in either direction...Money in the bank

Wait for 1.1 to hit target since it have the largest set of grids to take out.

check this out...average DD 7% this is my small account which made me $34..currently it is $31 minus...

If you wanted to start a micro account, how would you set that up without going over leverage. Can I keep only a maximum of "two" .01 (so .02 total lots open) open at any given time?

You have an idea to disable outdated alert on ver 1.0 ?

wow yesterday was Nerf breaking was $ 1300 down but all recover at the USA session lucky had a $ 3000 demo account or will blow up for sure
anywhere since opening the account $ 3000 on the 12 of february balance today $ 4791 not bad .

What value do you use for STEP?
Your trades are quite close to each other. And using a multiplier of 1.2 will definitely complicate the issue.
I am just hoping that you don't use these settings with real money.

Hey BillYon, you seem to understand this EA quite well and have very interesting thoughts about the way it should be handled, well done and I will follow your comments closely. You have posted several posts regarding lot size and if you don't mind I would like to get your opinion about the following.

I am using this EA with relative conservative settings on a EUR/USD live account:

(If I am not mistaking, these settings are also used by theXfiles)

Instead of starting with a larger amount and let the EA trade on conservative, high DD avoiding, setting I started with only EUR 175 with the intention to let the account grow over time. No issue if I lose that money, although it would be better to avoid that. Reducing high DD is therefore not my primairy goal for now. In this phase I am only interested in letting the EA do its work so the account will grow to a reasonable amount. Once that is the case (let's say if the account has grown to EUR 5.000), I will put the focus more on lowering DD and accepting smaller gains so I will definately remain in business (probably will withdraw the starting amount before that moment so I play with the bank's money).

For now I have to find a compromise between doubling the account several times in the coming period and taking not too much risk. I am still trading with 0.01 lots. I am doubting when to increase the position size to 0.02 lots. Last Friday I had 14 open positions (price was almost 130 pips away from the first entry) and had a DD of around 50-60%. This felt okay. I am considering to increase lot size with 0.01 every EUR 300 (so raising lot size to 0.02 if the account grows to EUR 300).

Since you seem to have a very good understanding of the behaviour of - and the risks that come with - the EA and also have some experience with DD situations, I would like to know whether you believe that increasing lot size with 0.01 every EUR 300 account growth is too risky, taking into account what my current intentions are. Your input will be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: I noted that you advise to increase lot size with 0.01 for every 5.000 and 500 (depending on the settings). That seems to be the more conservative approach which is in my case not relevant (for now at least).

If you were running .02 lots total, a minimal 1000$ is required in my experience, so 500$ for .01 lot. I tried demo 200$ per .01 lot - would lead to a margin call quick. GL

But that also depends on settings (on multilotsfactor and step mainly, if I am not mistaking)
