they are not a set in stone standard. Other forces will be at work also For example the Greece bailout for the Euro.

In my opinion the thing to do is not worry to much about correlations. Just focus on supply and demand. Once that is mastered then look at correlations. To much of all this stuff makes my head spin. Sometimes it will freeze a trader into inaction.

Fastes way to burn an account i have ever seen is blindly trade UJ in (negative) correlation with Eur. Never, ever, do that. Uj could move because $ is strong or weak and this, most of the time, will probably affect euro too, but it could move even for a lot of other reason (maily when CB pull some trigger but not only that) so don't assume that if UJ is going up Eur will go down.
Watch the entire market (mainly eur gbp yen, usd, stocks energy) as "one" market, to get an idea of where money is flowing, esp. during liquid session, is a good thing, as is good watch all the Euro pairs (or aud or gbp etc etc) togheter to understand how strong/weak Euro is, but you have to train your eyes for some time to watch and grasp this in real time; plus this is the cherry on the top of the cake, you really don't need it to trade profitably.
Just my 2 cents.

Totally agree. If folks can't see the educational value in Warren's (and others posted here) charts, then they're obviously in the wrong thread.
Thanks Warren.

Running through some price action with my wife (beginning stages) and we have a question shown in the below chart if someone might be able to answer.
This is just something we were drawing up in MS Paint, and as we got to this peak we were confused what to call it.
Thank you!

{quote} I am sure the financial institutions in the Forex market can do as well.....how about better. They have been at the same game for centuries. Just because there wasn't a computer terminal to work from doesn't mean they did not manipulate to their advantage.

Hi Rufus,
I definitley agree with you. I can recommend to read "Master The Markets" by Tom Williams to get a deeper understanding of this topic.
Nevertheless the modern technology opened a whole new world for institutional traders to control (or manipulate) the markets. It's like they are seeing the matrix we are living blind in our little world. But S&D and PA is the pill which let us see the reality. And Red is Neo...or is Red Morpheus and KennyZ is Neo or...

I hope that wasn't too much flowery language

No one hardly putting it on the line here and displaying it. That's what this thread used to be all about and that's why there was no bickering earlier on because it was all walking the walk, not talking the talk.

Starting Monday, lets all put in on the line and display it. Give Red words some honour, who's in?

Guys if you want to learn that stuff, its all on RTM, this is PIE. (not meaning to offend) All that stuff just over complicates something that is meant to be quite simple and is just new over complicated terminology coined to sell a 10k course.

Mikey,

Let me ask you a question instead. At what point(s) on the chart would you have considered trading long or short, and why?

I'll try and give you something useful (im no guru btw) if it helps you avoid the overcomplications of rtm.

When theres lots of highs and lows all over the place and struggling to make sense, go up a time frame, and just look at the swings there. If one swing breaks another swing, then the peak or trough of that swing becomes supply or demand.

All,

Back from a fantastic over night Romanian Birthday party. I love the fact that the markets are closed over the weekend, this is such an ideal set up for me.

I am truly taken back by my Romanian friends, i was made to feel so welcome, almost like a King. We had great conversation and celebration. What i love so much is that they have not lost some important values.

All their food is natural, good old fashion home cooked. The Wine and Perlinka (fire water) is made by NAN back in Romania....WOW. There is a great sense of family and community. We were cooking from a timber fuelled bbq in very cold temperatures, i loved this so basic but the taste from natural smoking embers is unbelievable.

This is the second time i have been invited to a function and as the first, i feel so settled and calm, really very content.

Much was discussed, mainly from my view point regarding the "western" mindset. We live in such a fake society and i really feel quite ashamed at times. We are losing these values at an accelerating rate. Jealousy, materialistic, self centered, crime, divided. The "Western" way of thinking is really a cancer that is spreading across the globe.

Rounding up. The battle to understand the market does not end with bottom line profit. That is just the start of your true journey, what you become from that point on is. Remember who you are, always be humble. Never look to profit off the back of someone holding their hand out for help.

You will have the power to not only shape your life, but also others around you. Make sure it is positive.

Regards

Warren

I posted this some time ago on another thread. Thought it should be posted here. Really shows my heart toward the things Red was able to teach a few of us.

I am sitting here in a pensive and reflective mood. On April 10, 2010 Red made his first post on the now famous PIE thread. I was there... Little did I know at the time just how much this mans passion for trading and teaching was going to effect so many traders lives, mine included. Sure some know I took OTA Forex classes. (The class was new and much cheaper then). There I learned supply and demand and a bunch of other great things. But the passion for the market. The passion to see the tiny details of the market, the passion to then exploit each potential imbalance, and the passion to teach this to other traders...I learned from Red.

Things like..." You can't see buyers and sellers till you see engulfing...This applies to all instruments"

"Your strategy will match your personality"

"HTF are built on small time frames, understand the small to trade the big"

"You cannot hide institutional order flow"

There are many more.

So what is the point of all this... There are almost 29,000 posts to the PIE thread. A tad overwhelming. Red's trading was simple. A marked zone, engulfing, take the position. Repeat, repeat, repeat, for thousands of times for all of us who were a part of it to watch. All we need to know is there. Of the 29,000 posts, 8,000 were Red's.

One common thing in all his charts is simplicity. Sure Red saw the details but he never got bogged down in them. If the markets weren't right he didn't trade. If they were he cleaned house. All with simplicity and passion.

I have a goal in life that I hope to achieve one day. To sit down with Red while the charts are silent and share a bottle of Kraken. Then give a toast to all those who continue to share the passion he started with post #1

Hello all, just wanted to post some price configurations that l trade often. I am more or less a swing trader or range trader. They are essential engulfing whipsaw patterns at key levels and and work well in my trading plan. I also reduce all noise from my charts as its just a distraction to me. Hope you see these too and take advantage. They occur on all tfs and any pair, Got some examples
