in the process of examining a system someone sent me I attempted to look at the indicators being used and see if they would be of ant value for what I am doing now. they weren't then I thought lets see what happens since I am using a 13 tick range bar chart if I put a 13 sma on an see if any more trades could be added via pullbacks to it and what do you know it does. so here are the simple rules in a down trend when price pulls back an you you get a green dot and a down candle that's the trigger bar once it breaks put limit 2 ticks above low opposite for longs. now usually I was just looking at the strength indicator and waiting fot it to slope and get them which I will still do but with the sma when price comes back to it and we get the green dot down candle we can take those too.

I do not see any reference online to the macd/heiken-ashi formula or even the indicator itself. Do you know where we can find this? I would like to put it on TradeStation or Ninjatrader and see what it looks like.

Put a macd with 10 21 16 but only use the 1 line i think its macd average then see if you can drag ha onto it then go into enditor and change colors amd also make them dots

I just checked my TradeStation, NinjaTrader, and MT4 platforms. None allow for Heikens to be combined with an indicator without a programmer taking your instructions and coding it.

This is the Heiken-Ashi formula:

Close = (Open+High+Low+Close)/4
Open = [Open (previous bar) + Close (previous bar)]/2
High = Max (High,Open,Close)
Low = Min (Low,Open, Close)

So if your indicator has dots, then only the Close of the above formula would be programmed. Then there is the matter of why some of your green dots are lower than the dot that is before them (it seems like they should be red then). Thus, I suspect there is something more to it than your instructions.

The sloping is the macd the dots are the ha candle denotes up or down candle on close

California your right about the divergence if macd is sloping up and we get a up range bar but a red dot down heiken candle price is where we go

I would be int'd to know what the win rate is on these moving average trades, i.e. is it as accurate as your standard setup?

That is an interesting question those might be the larger runners will do some backtesting an get back to you. The 13 sma works nice with 13 range bars shows nice supply and demand areas
