Clive am I glad I stuck around in the beginning and was able to help here and there. Who would have thought that such a simple idea as the TT measuring angles of ma's could be so effective! Cheers

You're certainly getting the hang of this great trading and a really strong trender there, perfect setup as per system. Strong trender across the board and the right pair traded. Spot on.

What is becoming apparent every day is this strength across the board where we can identify a strong or weak currency. This is the money moving the market and thats exactly what we need to identify, where is the money going and how can we jump on board safely??? Keep that in your mind at all time we're not trying to buck the trend here , just follow the 1 min trend, follow the money. Jump on the backs of the big boys and for heavens sake don't get the other side of thier trades!!!!

I'm also noticing how important the time of day is too. Sure these moves can happen at strange times but they are the exceptions that prove the rule. We only need to be catching 2 or 3 of these moves per day so lets keep to the times they work. In my book I'm thinking just after LO/NYO especially after a high differential news release and our little pr-news moves too.

We need to see the TTindy dominated by a currency with 5 or 6 of its pairs present or one pair head and shoulders above the other say trading at 70 plus whilst others are below 30 for example.

The most important thing is once the TTindy has identified our pair to look at make sure that it is still trending strongly, strong AB moves taking out last high/low, when you open up the chart and then wait for the pullback, BC move back to support/resistance for entry.

I'm only looking for 1 or 2 trades per session, with the intention of getting as much as I can of the move.

I've fallen into the trap in the past of thinking I'm trading 1 minute charts so should be taking an entry every 10 minutes but thats not what this is about. Its about trading one strong move from each session and getting as much as you can from it. Basically finding the London/New York breakout trade..

If I can find myself a couple of good setups per session and net 30 to 50 pips I'm happy.

Yes I'm certainly glad you hung around as your input has been immense in bringing this all together. I feeel we are getting very , very close to a highly effective trading strategy. Just need to apply the discipline to only trade the perfect setups and wait for this across the board strength/weakness that you have been so adamant about almost from the start...

But a strategy is never complete and we still have work to do to make it even more effective...

Look at these 3 GBP charts from this morning great trades by everyone involved but how can we start to harvest the full move???

I'm thinking when we have this across the board strength /weakness we need to be catching a bit more of the move.

How about holding on the 100lwma???

Trail down the LH's until stopped out???

Bank half , hold half???

Whats everyones thoughts ? Surely together we can put the finishing touches to this London Breakout strategy???

Morning every one, sorry but this has to be quick, we are in the middle of our Olive harvest and I have pickers wondering in and out all the time.

GBPCAD. +66 +116. Although the TTindy started signalling at the session open I waited for the Breakout PullBack before entering, by that time the TT indy had gotten into full swing and the visual angle on the 100 looked good. I opened a 1hr chart to try and get Target zones for TPs, there was a 123 for a measured move, and 2 fairly strong looking S&R level both of which provided confluence zones with the 123 Extensions, the 161.8% and the 200% and 2 BRNs.
The Renko chart is a 3 pip Renko, some may find a 5 pip Renko more palatable.

I will be back this afternoon, oh, my afternoon, CET.

Awesome trading so you're looking up once we've caught something and targeting higher timeframe zones??

Looks like a good level to me to show resistance at or around 50% of daily range

I couldn't find if this has been suggested before but wouldn't it be nice to be able to select/unselect pairs in the TT indy? Some pairs are untradable because of their spread. I really would like to exclude them from the indy. Some coder should be able to do this right?

Took this long earlier in GBPCAD looking for the reversal after a strong move down HHHL aller MrV.'s thread. Low risk small stop higher reward if it comes off, but then it got 30 odd pips up and at BE on a pre news loading so took a risk on a negative news release for CAD and hey ho 120 pips thank you very much.

I'm sort of moving towards 3 types of trades for me, pre news trade as per this one, post news trades after a high differential news release and our LO/NYO/TO breakout trade just after market opens..

Looking to capture one or two solid entries as early as possible in a move and leave it at that....

Will be looking for a CAD weak move this afternoon for sure...

Hear what you're saying and others here have asked the same question but my thoughts are we need all 8 major currencies in the TTindy to highlight the strongest/weakest correctly. However theres nothing to say you have to trade the top pairs you could wait until the lower spread pairs appear or just check their charts and when the 100lwma is sloping nicely theres your opportunity.

Could also wait till theres a strong or weak currency across the board then pick the lowest spread pair for that currency..

Could also select the ATR option which then takes into account the pairs volitility so giving you some lower spread pairs..

Of course you could always change to a broker with competitive spreads in the top trending pairs. GBP pairs figure strongly in TTindy so find a good GBP broker???

Just some thoughts that might help....

Talking about pre-news trades look at this CADCHF move just before the news, somebody new something surely???? Good old New Yorkers up to the same tricks as our Good Old London Boys by the looks of it....

This is definately something to look for in our TTindy just before a major news release. You can either enter when the 1 min trend develops and close out just before the news release or close out half and hold half or if you're 30 plus pips up take the risk and hold through the news release... I've rarely seen one go hard against me from memory this pre news loading seems to work quite well.

Again we're just following the smart money....

Thanks, all good ideas! I'm only trading the low spread pairs at the moment. But because it's 1min you have to be fast not to miss the train. That's why i asked. Maybe the indy could have an additional column or a second indy.

1. Like TT now, but with display selection of pairs
2. Currency strength sorted by strength, based on the TT values.

Dee - may I please ask if the above chart is just a simple M5 chart with HA, or is it a Renko chart based on M5 with HA over the Renko bars (the first chart in Post # 4033) ?

I ask becasue I spent a lot of time trading Renko bars last year and eventually felt I had discovered the Holy Grail by plotting only HA bars formed from Renko bars. But I found them almost impossible to trade live (as you know, even standard Renko bars pose additional challenges for Live trading).

Then I calmed down, remembered that the Holy Grail does indeed exist (via understanding & managing our psychology... only that Thai-wanderer, 60minuteman seems to be making a serious attempt at exploring this, & Twee has booted his thread to the Commercial section ) and went back to "trusty" time-based bars.

Good luck with the olives...

(and as I hardly ever post these days, hello to Clive, V and others : excellent thread - far too many indicators, of course - but really splendid thread nonetheless )

had to go to Cordoba to get a piece of paper stamped, a round trip of 300 kms, when 30kms away is an identical office but it is in Malaga province so I can not use it. Spanish logic??

Another quick trade. GBPCAD +50, Pennant, Double Divergence and TL Break 5min TT @127 1min very low @23? but then rose to 47, I am going to have to spend some time reading this thread from the beginning, see if I can get a handle on what is good and what is bad.
