There is ThinkForex almost identical as ICM except that there is no commission. However I don't get impressed with no commission etc I'm just looking for a broker who does not play games like in my example and who pays when a client withdraws. And yeah at least 400:1

Well actually the spread on XAUUSD at IC Markets does seem to be fixed around 0.20 which is 20 cents. Here is a screenshot of the pair's LIVE prices on cTrader from today and in this screenshot, the spread is even lower.

But having said that, it is strange that a trade on demo that just got taken out when there was not even SL prices there as shown on the screenshot and it is true that the price NEVER reached 1235.xx ever during that time in I assume Australian time even with the spread of 20 cents added.

Vitez, can you click on the journal tab and show us a screenshot of the journal tab so we can find out how that trade was taken out? Since there was no SL price shown there, the trade shouldn't even be closed due to widening of spread. What was the margin level at the time when the trade was closed? And what kind of demo account did you open with IC Markets?

starting to believe every broker tend to screw you at something.

i did a transfer to my IC markets account, and what i received was about 320 dollars less than expected, the international exchange rate of my currency to dollar was 3.38 (from xe.com) and they gave me 3.18, besides their email response is very slow, already searching for another broker

You are right Forexia, the spreads in ctrader are lower. I use their ECN mt4 and on a average the spread in XAUUSD is 20 to 30 cents.

I checked out in their website that the minimum spread in their standard account is around 30 cents, so i thought the Demo would probably be in that range and may reach a maximum of 40-50 cents at times http://www.icmarkets.com/forex-tradi...tions/spreads/

That cant be true. When I was with them last year, I saw XAUUSD spread going to 0.28 odd times of the day so what Vitez said about 0.25 seems possible. And if you ask them, they will say no volatility but dont forget lack of liquidity depending on time of day... which will widen spreads.

Used to believe them until I compared with gold scalpers in my group who told me how small their spread was? (we were talking about the same time but different ECN brokers here). Then again if you ask icmarkets they will say its liquidity provider issue the usual excuse... and not be able to help further. Very frustrating, was not able to scalp gold them for good reason. Same goes for NZDUSD and others pairs... suddenly u see huge spread even when no news and they will say its due to lack of liquidity at the time and so on. Well I checked with other ppl elsewhere and they also said this only seems to happen to accounts with open trades going on...? i can also tell u at certain times their ctrader and mt4 prices will be very different even with no volatility. showed them screenshot and they say its different LP for each platform or something? zzz. told them they gotta fix these issues even then, since I had eurusd trades in both with similar settings and it sucks 1 closed and other didnt due to this.

Wow, could it be due to the fees? They wont pay funding fees and it will always be deducted from the amount coming in, just FYI.

Spreads in ctrader lower, but commission higher unless you dont trade EUR/xxx GBP/xxx pairs. the MT4 is always USD7 i remember for 1 round lot. For ctrader its a % of the base currency. important to know if you intend to scalp tiny pips with bigger lots.

That is how it is with ALL forex brokers out there. Whatever they give you they will ALWAYS find a way to claw it back somehow somewhere sometime. When they REALLY can't with any legitimate reasons, they do it by force by confiscating your money. For the few honest ones out there, you can't really trade profitably with them providing crappy platforms and extremely low leverage and no hedging.

It's such a shame. Spot FX is such a lucrative and enjoyable financial instrument to trade with and those brokers and the liquidity "providers" have to ruin it. Well this is their swan song too. Without us, there will be no them. Anyway...

Yeah but the strange thing here is EVEN with all the spreads added onto it, the price still wouldn't have reached 1235.xxx! And plus from Vitez's screenshot, there was no SL prices there, there was only a TP price so the trade wouldn't have been closed even due to stop-hunting by widening of the spread. So HOW did that trade get closed? That's why I have asked Vitez to show us perhaps a screenshot of the "Account History" or "Journal" tab to see more information. If this is a technical issue with MT4, then IC Markets should get it fixed.

Since this is demo trading so there was no liquidity "providers" involved so this should be more of a technical issue.

Yup spread on cTrader is lower but the slippages is BIG too and the variance is very large and happens very fast. I have seen it go from 0.0 to 1 in 2 seconds!!

Finally someone that uses his brains!

Indeed the spread was even lower than 20 cents which makes the incident even less possible!

I said that even if it went up to 30 cents I should still be in the trade.

Forgot to mention that it is normal the trade got close because of the stop out level. However based on the lot size I was like 50 cents away from stop out.

So yes it was a high risk trade that used stop out level as SL. I've done this many times and I know exactly how many pips in red before stop out gets triggered.

And because of the false price the stop out was at 53% while it should be at 80%. Which means I lost more (demo) money than planned.

And btw the trade would have been a huuuuge winner. I'm glad it's a demo huh!

If I ever make like 10.000% I'll withdraw it and post on this forum if I actually got the money.

It was ECN EUR 1:500 demo account.

BUT the thing is the price never HIT 1235 even with all the spread padded there!! That price did NOT exist on the chart!! Maybe I am looking at the wrong time here. So Vitez, you need to show us a screenshot of the "Account History" tab in MT4 so we see exactly how your trade was taken out. Since there was no SL price there, so it was NOT stopped out or should not have been stopped out.

I already said it was taken out due to the brokers automatic stop out level, which is 80% at ICM.

However because of the price trick the stop out level was in this case 53% as you can see under the comments section.

Again it's no misery WHY the trade got closed but where did the broker get the price which is not on chart?!

It also happened during a very low volatile day (US holiday) and also I was watching the spread live and it was very tight below 20cents for the most part.

Something is just not right. That price just does not exist, margin or no margin. And since we don't see your account balance so I will assume it was taken out at 53% margin stopout level then that's even more bizarre.

I would suggest you contact IC Markets support and ask them about it. Looks like a technical glitch. Good luck!

YES exactly! This is the main reason I posted here.

I answered the question why was the trade closed and again this is not important.

The price 1235.04 was never on a chart and the spread was not the reason.

They said they can not comment on that because they don't know why it happened........

No need for luck it's only a demo and I will simply trade live with another broker.

Good point there, and yea. Lucky you got this happening to you already on DEMO (not LIVE yet) -> good indication to stay away since they cant explain it satisfactorily to you. Thanks for sharing with us, seems the russian guy does have valid case then.

If you look are fxpacearmy there are always a few extra bad reviews on every broker that has 1:500 etc...makes me wanna trade futures. I'll probably go with ThinkForex however I'm not sure if there is a difference between these brokers.

Will post in this forum if I get positive or negative experience.

U do have valid point. thats why I am using broker 1:100 or 1:200 now tho it is no gurantee of honesty. And yes, do let us know how your experience there turns out. All the best my friend
