Analyzing news articles or blogs in order to predict price direction is useless. News and gossip are irrelevant and misleading. Direction of the price is random and influenced by too many factors, hence your entry shall be the same: random. Choose your own direction but respect SL and TP!. Good luck.

I know this one is gonna be hard to figure out by some but here's the explanation:

-This was played with a 18 pip SL
-The reason why I wasn't taken out is because of SL trailling
-As described on page no. 1. : you must enter the trade before the news and trail your SL until the last second before the news comes out
-The SL was properly trailed, like clockwork until the last second and even though the price did not go in my favor before news, it went after news
-The management of what happens in the last minutes before news is extremely important. It can go either way!
-Good studying

Lol, what an excuse. You did it wrong no matter the result posted. You trailed the stop and at a point your stop was 20+, thats the fact.

If the price had continued to fall before the publication of the news, and you had followed the trailing process, your account would end at zero.

The trailing thing is not an intelligent thing to do. Better to study the average broker's spread widening time and then waiting something more than that figure to enter the market.

You crack me up but thats ok. I guess with the pressure of your trade size , it is difficult to keep a cool head , I could not do it at that level for now.

Jonander, this technique has always been listed on page one. It is possible that the price fluctuates a lot before the actual time of news, but it can go either way. In the GBP cpi above, the price went -25 pips but it could have go +25 as well!

In my particular case, my total risk was 18 pips (original) + 25 pips (fluctuation). Keep in mind that fluctuation before news can be in your favor too. Before understanding these principals you may call it ''not intelligent''.

I have learned which news are worth it from analyzing since 2005 and even before.
