anyone living in the Americas and trading London open?

i have been seeing many trading oportunites happen around london open but i am asleep at that time. was wondering of anyone else living in the americas trades london open hours and how they manage their sleep schedule. i think staying up late (4-5am) would be slightly better than getting up extremely early (like 2am-ish). how is it going for you?

I tried when I lived in South America but it didn't work for me so I would focus on the Asian session instead. Now I have moved to Thailand and that is much better - I can trade Tokyo, London and New York open

I live in Honolulu and trade the London Open ( 10 PM my time ). Trade Asian session and late NY session.

I was born in Toronto and used to wake up early like 0200am everyday to get up for london but just moved to south africa and am GMT+2 now and my god life is so much better, I get up at 6am and go until 8 or 9pm and will get a little bit of asia sessions, all of london and most of the US session. Trading forex seems better if you GMT time or maybe more east like asia or europe somewhere.

i'm thinking i could still play the london momentum at new york open though...will have to practice

Yes just wake up regular time 0600 and be around for new york open. 8-11am best time to trade new yorktime.

I have been thinking of doing the same.

I read somewhere that the human body is more ept for two 4 hour sleep cycles. Since I live in Texas, that would mean 10pm-2am then back in bed by 4am (my trades don't require me to be in front of the monitors all day)

Everyday all day ... Not much point in trading NY anymore anyway. Asia and London best for me. But I've never needed more than 3 to 4 hours sleep. So bedtime at 11 to midnight and up at 2:30 to 3am. EST

I too have taken note of the great opportunities at the London open, and am trying to devise some sort of sleep schedule that would make trading it possible. If anyone has done this successfully and has some sort of schedule that worked for you to share it would be much appreciated.

It seems I am not alone here
I am living in EST and I am trying to implement my new sleeping schedule as of tonight, 8pm to 2am (or 2:30 am)
see if it works.

I follow a alterative sleeping schedule where I usually sleep about 3 x times a day so overall I sleep less hours and get more time in the day as this allows me to catch every session of the market. I start with Euro open usually, have a nap around Newyork mid and then again new York close sometimes and will shift in between those depending on the news. I live in New York time zone. I enjoy being up at night, stores not busy, nice and quite, hell I even ride my bike around and feel safer because there is like 1/10th of the cars
