This broker trade against us bad experience
i had a bad time long time ago with xm...they replaced all buy positions on eurusd to lower price and the loss deducted from my account..terrible experience and bad excusion

I am getting 400+ ms ping times from a cns vps server in new york. the ping times should be 70-80ms max. Is there an updates srv file or IP address that can be entered? Can PM with this info if needed.

^^ We were able to download the xm terminal to a separate installation folder, and then deleted the old config files from the problem terminal and then copied config files from the new terminal \config folder to the problem terminal. Then we re-logged in to the live account (did not reboot terminal) 70-80ms ping times from Real 1 server. Much better.

I understand XM's server is now in London UK, but 75ms is still good. Not sure why so many DCs are needed anyway; seems to add fragmentation to how orders are processed but to each their own.

Too bad we cannot recommend putting larger funds in XeM account.

am considering an account with this company, i like the idea of the exact pricing, but specially like that they offer the mt4 platform for mac for all real accounts as far as i understand it. not to mention that you can apparently withdraw profits made from your bonus, although i'm not sure if i understood that one correctly. would appreciate clarification.
Anybody trades with them? Will they remain on market after yesterday? I was going to open account with them for tests as they ofer 20Pounds on opening for free.

I am trading with them. They haven't informed anything. i traded today without any problem. Seems like they are ok right now

Just closed trades few minutes ago with them, no issues so far. If you're unsure to open an account or not, wait a few days or few weeks until everything is sorted out who is going out of business and who is not. I think it's the big guys like forex.com FXCM Alpari and so on who are screwed big big time by the swiss national bank.
I just spoke with XM representative named Ahmed or so via their live chat and had this as answer.

I think its ironic that its the "big guys" who had problem during the CHF craziness, and smallest brokers like XM or Exness got out of it without any major incident.

I placed a sell trade on USDCAD at 1.20889, and protected the trade with a stop-loss 1.20793 (to protect against an incoming news event), the stop-loss got executed 71.1pips above my set value resulting instead in a loss. Note that there was no gap so the market had liquidity (there were buyers available to match my stop-loss level). I complained to my account manager and he tells me " it is a result of a sudden increased spread due to volatility from news, so I should accept the loss."

Traders is this right? If excuses can be given for not honoring stop-losses then your accounts with XM have no real protection, since volatility can be blamed for every wrongly filled order.

You need to tell your support staff(stefania A) to stop lying.


Update: I have had direct contact with your staff now. I didn't receive any past spreads but I am satisfied for the moment.

The best thing to do is monitor the spreads yourself. See the attached file. Works best on a 1 min chart so you can zoom in on spikes.

One of the disadvantages of trading in forex is that the ticks are a little different for each broker, and they can use whatever feed they want. So it's up to you to keep track. Each broker if needed.

We often track spreads across several brokers of different varieties (ECN, STP, MM, etc) to have a more complete picture.

Another good tool that is emerging is TradeProofer.com

i have a question, my account has blocked since a month a ago, i have done e-mail, but until now cannot use my account, many time im e-mail but cannot solve, i hope u can help
I have opened an account with XM this week. This is my 4th br0ker I use.

Can anybody tell me what experience they have had with withdrawing profits from XM. I'm not talking about 100-200 USD but large amounts like 30-50K USD. Since I have problem with withdrawing large profits from IronFX then I thought I try XM.

I used Skrill (moneybooker) and they sent me 20k + without any problem. I cannot talk about wires since I never used that. I'm curious, did you read this thread before opening an account?

Thank you aiming4stars. I actually did read the thread but post-EUR/CHF financial situation and practices of processing withdrawals have changed with many brokers. For example I'm still to receive 50K USD from IronFX that was my profit there. It's been 2 weeks already. And I thought since XM is also Cysec regulated then maybe they have similar client-discriminating withdrawal practices.

I will fund my XM account with 25K EUR this week. I do mostly 1-2 week directional trades to make money so will see how they execute my trades and will it change once the profits starts to accumulate.

How to add a US dollar index in to MT4's chart?
There is a problem with the datafeed or ticks coming in when the market is closed. When this happens, an expert advisor may detect a certain market condition and then attempt to place an order. But then it gets an error that the market is closed.

The EA only knows that the market is open when there are ticks sent to the terminal (and the specific symbol that the EA is attached to). So when the market is closed, there shouldn't be any incoming data.

This happens often with gold when it opens daily and also can happen with forex symbols on the monday open. XM is sending data at times where they disallow trading. This isn't right; what's the point of a feed you cannot trade on?
