Hi, Clive

Great thread! I am a trend trader and interested in your use of renko bars. At first glance, they look easier to use than candlesticks. If it is okay with you, I would like to download your renko indicator.

I was watching CAD move in Jan. 30 NY open. wondering if anyone took this trade or can anyone comment if this is a system trade per rules.

CAD strength across the board, break the range but no re-test, it is a very strong move, no decent retrace, wondering if it is good to enter in the yellow circle area

hows this henry?
dont forget to use the ttindy as clive says

i see your using 8 cci for m1
meaning you have what looks like a 120? for 15min cci ?

not noted on picture,,,after the first abcd price counter trends up then you could have traded a short down to the next start at A of the abcd

if you wanted to be aggressive you could have shorted at A1

Hi

Well I guess its fair to say its a system trade in that its certainly a strong trender thats for sure. Of course it was caused by the CAD news release. It falls into what I call "post news trades" when a high differential causes a strong move. The reality of course is having the courage , some might say being foolhardy enough, to take it on. I have in the past many times as its the epitome of a strong trend.

I did a post called catching a falling knife which would have worked fine here. You could of placed a pending sell stop below the green candles or each cci dip but its pretty adventurous stuff. When I do it I just go to BE after 1 pip and see if it holds....But if I'm honest this is looking a little too strong to trade with confidence but you're on the right track..

Strong trender, wait for pullback, drop pending order under pullback get to BE very quickly and see if it sticks....
Feel the Fear and do it anyway!!!

Difficult today as CHF weakness dominating the TTindy but this EURCAD looked ok so had a go but not looking too promising, could of grabbed an orphan but just trying to have a quick look just after LO and see whats strong...

Got 2 chances I guess...

Clive, your extended experiment with the Hirenko bars is pretty interesting.

But . . . new job? As TRO used to say, "Drain the Banks." I suspect your one big play per session will go some way toward that. Mr. V probably takes the rest. You might not be able to 'afford' to work any more with your trading results.

Every success to you!

Had a couple of BE's or marginal profit trades today. Got this system trade with cad in 7 of top 8 on TT. 32 pips for +13% so I'm happy with that and makes it a decent enough day, thankfully.
