I agree. KPMG are just doing their job.
The FCA have appointed them to do a job and they have to do it. Unfortunately the processes cannot be changed.
As clients we are now part of a process that we have to go through whether we like it or not.
The only thing we can do now is learn from this "and if your that way inclined" use this situation to better protect ourselves in the future.
From what I read in that link the FCA are applying "antique" rules and laws to a new world industry and those rules and laws just dont work to protect clients. And they know it!
The plain truth is that the FCA cannot protect your funds which is why they have the backup of the FSCS if things dont work out.
It is however down to the FCA to get the rules and laws in order so clients are protected so they are indeed the people who need to be getting their asses chewed.
Anyone who intends trading under FCA protection has a vested interest in chewing them!

This is actually typical reaction, from someone who does not know a thing!
It is not like that at all.
Russian Alpari is actually very good broker and owner is very smart and talented professional.
Whatever he was saying was not heard in Alpari UK by his partners.

Do not assume things!

Right now we do not even know what is going on, are we getting all the money back or just 50%, is alpari being bought as a whole or in parts or at all. Wait for more update from administrators before we start a petition. There is no wrong doing so far. But if there is some wrong doing then this petition would be the way to go. Settle down and be pTient, there is no need to work up a mob into a frenzy.

100000 signatures? is easy, hahaha. This amount signatures do not get.

100000 is not big number keeping in view we are 100000 traders. if 50% traders become active and sign it, and they ask only one friend or family member to sign it, then we will have 100000 signatures

I am wondering if UK lawmakers have to account to non UK citizens!?!

It would make sense that UK/maybe EU citizens can only make any petitions, otherwise Iraqi's could ask for Muslim religion being only one in UK.

As far as I am aware in last month Alpari UK had only 12 000 active members and in last 6months 24k or so.

You confuse accounts with active traders. Perhaps actively traded last year 30000. Of this certainly does not live in the UK 10000. Of the remaining traders maybe 20% would sign a petition. Where should the remaining 96,000 signatures come from?

My friend has 50k in segregated fund...he wents there the past week in london to kpmg office for let them sign a paper than he tooks from his lawyer which say if they hold for more time his funds he gonna apply a % of interest if they don't let him to withdraw his money.
So next week he will goes again in london he has an appointment with kpmg and then they give him the whole entire amount to his bank account.

He said to me if you don't take lawyer and don't go there...they don't move their a**.

Ask your friend what is his/her lawyer information, I would like to use the same lawyer.
Or some of us can make combined claim!
So that we can save on lawyer expenses.

I just phoned the compensation team (0207 7414100) and they told me basically they arent even involved they only come into the picture as a last resort to make a claim assuming the company did everything by the regulators rules and so far they havent even been contacted??

so in a nutshell..we have to pray these alpari people did things properly to see any money??

not happy about the way we are being dealt with..completely losing faith in placing my money with a broker ever again
