Not sure if you talk bout same thing as I think of but slumping oil may be pretty nice boost for China. Not like I were any expert on China stuff, can see not good numbers coming out. But who the heck knows whats going on inside huh? Overall pretty wild bet, but can pay very well. See, paranoid me tends to think China wants its slice in internet trade and communism has this nice little attitude if wants something, goes through corpses. So think Baba could be pretty nice long term investment .

I am newbie in Options. what do you think about buying QQQ Feb 27 Puts strike price @104? current price is about 1.75, I am expecting QQQ to drop to 102 in next 2-3 weeks. is it a good idea?

Nice idea, I am for it, I just love to go closer to the price... Pay more, but higher probability. I bought just a few of SLB Jan30 80/79.50 bear put spreads for $0.12... maybe I will add more later, at better prices...

add-on... ha, just minutes after, there it is at $0.07... OK, waiting game is on.

Bought QQQ puts Feb 27 Strike Price 103.50 for $1.88 instead, lets hope it works out

Well, if you got that wrong, that is all you can lose. I like spreads, they "hold" their value much better. That could be Feb 27 104/102 bear put spread for debit, OR you can sell spreads, like Feb 27 104/106 call spread for credit... If you are familiar with debit and credit spreads, both are defined risk strategies (and defined profit), easy to understand.

welcome, my friend when buying options always remember your time decay, you have a little over four weeks and generally after the second week time decay accelerates so you need to keep you eye on it. Good luck anyway

Added more for $0.05 debit... yep. First ones I bought in a rush, and second to average price, since I am already in.
So, I am a proud owner of those mofos for $0.085... Either I lose more, or win more.
Add-on: losing more has more probability atm.


Other than that, MSFT & TXN have ER's tonight, and bunch of companies tomorrow BMO... I will do some of them.

I'm going for it but as a call spread, I'm long $84 SLB call and wrote $84.50 call for a net 5c or $5 per contract. As this may happen quickly I've put in a GTC to take me out AT $84.45.

I am trying to fill 2 weekly spreads: a $85/$85.50 AXP bull call vertical and a USO $17/$17.50 bull call vertical - trying to fill below the mid on these, prolly won't make it. I am not much of a Monday trader....will look at possible ER trades for names with ER's this week. I sold the UUP Mar/Jun $26 call calendar I had for $0.18, had bought it for $0.06....going surveying, great sunny day here, warm enough to wear shorts....

filled the AXP spread @ $0.10 debit....then AXP dropped at the close....lt $83.30, I need a ~$3 pop by Friday to make some money. I don't risk much on pure directional trades....USO bull spread not filled, prolly just as well...

This calendar was filled at $0.05, made $0.02 already ......risks $100 to make $1500+
