I placed this sample, because the name of thread - is Trend Trading Systems (it is not called Trend Trading systems using MA and long periods). My system based on trend, I build trends using indicator, that draws waves and fractals. I am sorry, if i write in wrong thread.

Hi bodine,

I would say it's an honest mistake on my part. I would usually use 2 ATR beyond the MA.

Fantastic, how about start your own thread on this, seems like you can do a weekly report every week then, find your own followers

And a tip, maybe use some other money management strategy beyond just trading 0.1 lot size, it will improve your balance for sure.

Hi fxtec,

If you're trading futures you need to roll over your contracts every 3 months.

If you're on cfds, there's no need to worry about rolling over.

I'm actually in this trade as you, i got short on the test of the 20EMA on the 4hour chart.

My stops was 2 ATR(20) on the 4 hour timeframe.

Sometimes even though you have a 2ATR stops, the market may still take you out of your trade before heading lower.

When that happens, i usually ask myself this question, do i want to get back in?

If i do, i will look to enter short once more. I typically have a maximum of 3 tries to enter a trend.

that's some sweet trades you got there.

Yes the exotic do provide trending opportunities like what you've spotted.

I actually closed the trade on Friday afternoon with just over 450pips I can't believe it....
Trade started to pull back also S&R area, so i wasn't sure what to do and I thought it's best to close seeing that it's Friday.
This was my first trade left running for over a few days and i had fun with it as well seeing all the pips.

Is your trade still running? Do you leave trades open on week ends?
On a few forums I have read that we should not trade on Mondays and all trades should be closed on Fridays... how do you feel about this.

If you trade this system then there is no need to close out trades before the weekend, you should have a defined SL and TP set with each trade and let it run.

what you did was the tip of the iceberg. i'm glad you're liking it.

i let my trades run for as long as it needs to. if my exit signal is not met, i leave my trade on.

i have held trades for months and yes i leave it open on weekends.

i don't pay attention to the monday or friday no trading rule, i trade when my trading plan tells me to.

Looking to buy silver when market opens with this 2ATR stops.

Only possible threat is 50 ema on weekly chart but i think it will be worth trying.

Hi Au.trader,

I'm watching the metals as well, but prefer gold due to it's relative strength.

I would look to play a breakout to the upside or a retracement towards the 50ema.

In fact i covered this in my weekly market analysis, i'll post it up in a while.

Look at gold and you'd notice it has broken out of the weekly 50ema, that was why i felt it was relatively stronger compared to silver.

Here is my trade last week. Stopped out -78 pips. Not sure if time was good to short, or my SL was too low. For one hour 2ATR was about 78 pips. My only trade of the week.
