Welcome to Hell's Lair, my new place for sharing charts.


My History

I'm nearing 40, and have 3 passions in live:

1) My 3 months old daughter. She's number 1, no questions asked
2) Programming. Yes, I'm a computer geek and proud of it.
2) Trading. Yes, I'm a trading addict and proud of it.

Two things on second place .. difficult choice. 7 years ago I quit my day job to become a full time trader, and after some initial mess ups I did quite well. But I missed programming, so I started writing my own trading platform (on top of Interactive Brokers TWS). That platform became quite large and powerful but also consumed a lot of my time, so I had to switch to trading the larger timeframes.

But these TF's are not as exciting, so now I'm in the process of selling the platform to a prop shop, and plan on starting a new venture that will hopefully allow me to combine taking care of my daughter whilst satisfying both other passions as well. A transition I hope to have completed in 2 months, at which time I will be posting charts of lower timeframes as well.

Current situation

I trade stocks using 2 local brokers, but my main trading accounts are with Interactive Brokers. I use these to trade forex & commodity futures, but as IB doesn't have nice charts I do most of my charting using MT4 demo accounts.

Future

As the demo accounts for MT4 charts are not really reliable, I'll be opening a real MT4 account somewhere soon. At that time, I will also activate a trade explorer following that account & showing my long term trades.

Important

What I will never do is post trade recomendations! I'll trade my charts, you'll trade yours!

EUR/GBP

And yes, I have the same trade on my live acounts. That small stop is 1% risk .. the TP should bring happiness!

USD/JPY

Thinking she's ready for a retrace, but not taking any trades as I see some support levels close by (previous high, backtest orange line).

EUR/GBP

Trade working nicely, taking some off here and moving stop to B/E.

CAD/JPY

Still going strong. +9% and still far away from TP

I was right about it being time for a retrace, but not chasing here ..

+230 pips, and still going strong. Taking some off here and moving stop to B/E, best to be cautious after all the bearishness

Allright .. it all took a bit longer than estimated but the live account has been setup. Trying out some things before activating trade explorer, be patient.
All positions above have obviously been stopped out. But thanks to the profit taking and stop-moving posted above they did yield some nice profits

Today I started buying CAD!

USD/CAD

On my main account I converted longs to shorts, on the small new account this thread is about I sold the spike of today. Started out small, got more and more aggressive. Yet, total risk < 5% of the acount!





Stops are large (above the screen) as I see bull targets around 1.22, 1.23 and above. Feels a bit like stopping a running train

AUD/CAD

Swap-wise expensive to short, but selling into support none the less.

Great analysis, but what about your profit and loss, because that is what really matters.
