I think 140 period is too much.

USDJPY H4 only
3 years backtest that I did, I found period 17 most profitable
SL = 70
BE = 50
BE+ 10
TP = CloseAtOppositeSignal

if useMM, I risked 5% account was ok

Sorry Sir, just wanted to see how seriously you wanted the something or advise, not bcos I think you are an idiot.

I had those doubts too until I turned CCI away from the conventional way it is used, and the account started growing steadily, then the doubts disappeared. And lagging CCI turned to cash.

JPY basket stopped out at BE+1000

cause of the SNB rate cut, I would have locked in more, if I took notice of it.

This is the pair that caused the damage, CHFJPY rose from 113.265 to 154.405 within an hour

But C5 Basket is still intact bcos there is no CHF in it

my post was meant ironic. sorry if this was understood in a wrong way. i just wanted to make clear that i'm not one of those lazy people who always want to have everything presented on the silver plate. unfortunately there are too much of them out there.
about lagging indi's i'm always skeptical.

but this thing looks indeed interesting and made me corious. and i'm even that serious about it, that i just put together a bit of code and made a litte EA for some backtests. it just opens and closes positions on signal change, not more. but indeed it doesn't look that bad. with a bit more trade manegement stuff (sl, be, jsl, etc) that could be a nice one.

so if you don't mind, those hints i would really appreciate.

Hello Guys!

my broker, AlpariUK just gone insolvent due to the SNB rate yesterday
they closed all orders, disable the mt4 platform and I cannot even withdraw my money. Even their website is not functioning as it used to be.
Though we have the assurance that the money is safe in a segregated accounts and would be paid back, (except in excess of 50k) but it will take time.

This is going to affect many other brokers, so if your broker still has not come out to say it, two other brokers too have declared their insolvency some would still do so.

My advise is this take your money out of your broker's account and hold it till this has a clear direction.

A word is enough for the wise, especially if your broker is not FSA regulated. If alpariUK could suffer that, the bucket shops would suffer more.

Waoo! this is the bloody candle that threw a whole alpariUK out of business.
For now my fund is held up with them, and I pray they speed up the process of payment.

just learnt a great lesson

ps: when the slope line-color and the "kos"-arrow (light blue) are in cync - it's good...but don't forget the problem of the tma...

NO!! we don't stop here, my trades were in profit, the JPY basket stopped by BE+ 1000 and the C5 continued in profit but this morning they closed all the orders and account balance did not reflect the profit.

a lot of accounts went into negative balances and many lost their equities, I really feel for them because they are not covered by FSA.

wow that's bitter. i hope you'll get your money back quickly!
excel markets and global brokers had to shut down also. the biggest retail broker in usa, fxcm, is in trouble.

i'm with global prime, the best broker i've seen so far. jem, one of the officials stated "business as usual", so they aren't really affected by the massacre. according to his statement they could prevent themselves (and the clients) from this by their strict leverage-policy: http://goo.gl/RtLSGw.

other brokers, for example oanda and pepeprstone, stated also that everything is fine.

Sad news ma broda.

It was a nasty week for many. I'd just stopped trading like an hour or so before the hit. Lucky1.

For now my (only) broker is still unscathed. Lucky2.

Terrible concerning AlpariUK...they "were" one of the few good ones. Let's hope you get your funds released soonest.

I think this further shows the NEED for everyone of us to have a couple or more brokers as a sort of crude "insurance" policy...against times like these. Granted it ain't easy - nonetheless I would say it's non-negotiable IF...if we have decided we will remain in such a volatile business.

It is all well...whether this is for good or bad, only time will reveal.
