Just catching up and downloaded this and your ma cross cci alerts. I'm sure this will help to signal when cci has retraced on a strong trending TT pair. Thanks for your efforts, much appreciated.

I really must go soon but today has been very useful for me and confirms what I have been thinking the last few weeks over the Christmas break. We have here a very good and safe entry system that works 70% of the time now all we've got to do is work out how to make the most of those entries... I've got to revisit a few things in my strategy to sort it out and sure its going to take time but trust me we are onto something here that is very very useful...

Just look back at the charts I've posted today all up several pips and at BE with risk off the table in minutes so a very good scalping system there on its own, just scalp the strong trends...

However it seems criminal at times when I look back at a day and see 100's of pips sliding by because I go to BE too quickly, so need to identify these "Hold or fold" situations if we can...

maybe one way forward is to scalp half hold half , maybe enter and leave initial stop alone so you either get a winner or a loser??? Maybe scalp and get yourself 20 pips banked then look to hold with a 20 pip stop???

Just look at these charts from this mornings TTindy very very tradable charts, we just have to find the way to trade them succesfully simple as that because these types of charts are showing up every day. Conquer this and we will have a very good trading strategy...

Yesterday and today looks like the ma cross cci alert is working well. I suspect I'll take off the alerts for the slope of ma, ma cross also, just having the arrows alert coming up (if you can do that of course).

Aha Godsclown I cannot see if that is possible from the settings I have played with. I am just looking for the arrows to come up to signal possible trades without the many other alerts for ma cross and slope alerts. Is that possible?

Hi Clive,

Scalping is very very difficult in my experience and I think the longer timeframes suit me better personally as my slow old brain needs time to process information. Thinking about it though, I would have thought that the objective is to get things to break even as soon as possible but to also give yourself the opportunity to benefit from runs as well. Therefore, splitting the trade in 2 and taking half off at 10, 15 or 20 for example, leaving the original stop in place you have a no loss trade if the first target objective is met, which should be achievable if you concentrate on turning points within a higher timeframe trend. You then have a free ride.

Easy to say I know, more difficult in practise of course............

Sorry, my bad. Find fixed version below. This version also has the same values like TTindy to show trend strength.

I should add in response to the other option of merely moving to BE after 10, 15 or 20. This has the advantage of a full position size in play if a larger move unfold's but the problem is that time and time again, price seems to retrace back to entry, re-visiting the scene of the crime so to speak, so BE is all you end up with. Maintaining the original stop keeps you in the game.

Hi Clive
You seem to yet again have lost your way with your method now you cannot click your buy and sell button every minute because of your work. You must be have looked into Bill Williams Alligator and the Guppy Method of trading at sometime in the past.
So let me ask you this, you keep banging the drum about a strong trend so which is the strongest Weekly Daily 4hr 1hr 15mi 5min 1min ?. Now that you are restricted by time why do you not move your method up to a more sensible timeframe, after all you say it works on any time frame, remember the Alligator had to close his jaws before a new trend could start. Looking at charts with ONLY your 100lwma on you could wait for say the 100lwma to all converge on say a 60 15 5 1min (jaws Closed) or the way I trade your method is have a mother chart to give me Trend say a 15min with only 100lwma on (Do not use CCI) then enter off your 5min or 1min ONLY in the Trend direction off the 15min. In your case due to your work perhaps Daily 4hr 1hr would suit better
The next point, how to take profit, you have mentioned ATR a few times, well just have a look at the range of the open and close not the high and low to get a idea of what you can expect in a Day 4h 1hr 15min 5min 1min candle
Take Gbp/Usd today
15min TREND UP
Take 5min or 1min BUYS ONLY
Trade until range Daily range hits about 70% of its ATR or even if your timing is bang on and you get a blast to say a good hourly range, the first object is to trade to gain the same amount of money that your day job pays, when you can keep doing this you can up the anti
To sum up turn your method round Strong Trend off a bigger timeframe the just Enter in the same direction off smaller timeframe

Have you noticed the Gbp/Usd dump after NFP stopped around the100lwma on a 60min chart, still might drop again but i'm out of here, done enough Daily range for me

Not so sure I've "lost my way yet again" would prefer to call it the continuation of finding my way....

As our friend Mr Edison said after many failed attempts to get the light bulb working. "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work...."

Anyway many thanks for your thoughts and ideas , yep maybe its time to work with higher timeframes but would probably do that as an automated routine through an EA , which my good friend Ted is working on as we speak.

Watch this space theres a "light bulb moment" just another 1,000 failures away...

Some have been asking to trade in Higher time frame, You can trade in 15 min TF by taking confirmation of CCI and Moving averages.

See how it works.

320 SMA + 165 EMA +102 EMA + 63 EMA + 55 EMA + 34 EMA + 21 EMA.

224 CCI + 56 CCI + 14 CCI. M Candle setting 240 minute.

320 SMA is important and this shows trend for the particular day. It is 4 hr trend . If the price comes below daily pivot, with 320 SMA red, then sell, target ? Daily support 1 for sure.

Daily support 2 and 3 targets can be met provided 55,34,21 EMA s are still down.
When you take trade below daily pivot, stop loss must be daily R1.

How to eliminate bad trades in some days ?

320 SMA is red , open price above daily pivot in 15 min TF, It means either choppy session ahead or reversal under way. In such days how to trade ?

Goto 5 min TF and trade in the direction of 320 SMA in 5 min chart. See the example 15 min TF and 5 min TF.

Another tip.

When daily open price and daily pivot line are in same price, expect a choppy day.

When daily open price is below daily pivot, look to sell in the direction of 320 SMA.

When daily open is above daily pivot line, look to buy in the direction of 320 SMA.

Hey Clive, there is nothing wrong with your system or trading from the M1 TF, we just need to trade the best setups. I appreciate contribution and words of wisdom from people like OAPDave, which you can use to improve your entry. For me the best TF to trade for a busy trader is actually the M1 TF because you will always get several pullbacks off the 100 LWMA (MA Trend Line - MATL) and can enter when price closes above or below it.

Another thing I do which you may want to consider is to impose a higher TF candle on the M1 TF. I add the M30 TF on the M1 TF and watch M1 price action within the M30 candle, to confirm the trade by entering when: (1) the M30 candle goes above/below the M1 MATL, and (2) enter when price breaks the high/low of that M30 candle by 1 or 2 pips. This way I am actually trading the M30 trend on an M1 TF, which is the same thing that Dave is suggesting. See the attached ECA chart from yesterday. I actually don't use the CCI or Stochastic because the MTL & M30 candle are enough trend identifier for me with the linear currency strength meter but whichever you use, PA is king.

Just my 2 cents FWIW.
