Yes, I did study your posts! I am also looking at another "vintage" indi by Hanover - this one also looks at the quality of the trend via angles of 4 regression lines, plots a histogram and summary.

Navk, the settings are 15 for the 1 min indy as theres 15 one minute candles in the 15 min timeframe and I use 12 for the 5 min as theres 12 five minute candles in the 1 hr candle. I just go up to the next timeframe but they can be whatever you like just remember the "lookback" setting gives you the length of the slope you're measuring so 12 on the 5 min is measuring the last hours price action. That means its telling me which pair has moved the most over the last hour..so whatever you use just remember what you're measuring..


Godsclown, I have edited my 2015 strategy post now so point 5 covers the stops. I try to get my stop behind a key level if I can behind the 100lwma, usually using 10 to 20 pips but now we're trading 30plus trends I don't think they will be hit too often even at 10 pips..

Hi Good People.
After trading on and off for the last 10 years, I now have the time and a bit of money to really get into things properly. Have used mainly Forex.com and GFT. Problem with both these brokers is that their indicators are limited and does not suffice. Any suggestions on brokers?

Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean by their indicators do not suffice? if you are using Mt4 you can install any indicator you want.
if you are looking for a better platform? maybe Tradestation would suite you? great broker and a very good platform, but the best of the best when it comes to trading platforms is probably esignal,it will cost you, and you would need a live data feed provider into esignal and that will also cost you on a monthy basis. btw in case you didn't know, esignal is not a broker, it's only a platform you can use with a lot of different brokers

Guys just thinking out aloud here about 2 points

1. Godsclown....i know your developing the indicator and im hoping it turns out to catch every move both trend and counter trend..accurately.
but my question is.....could you place a true false open in the inputs to turn on off the arrows for counter trends or even swing trades if higher timeframe.
eg if a red 100lwma we look for arrows for shorts..but with this.option turned on we could have arrows for opposite trades like counter trends...i just think it gives the trader his or her own option .

2 just looking thru the last few pages and playing catch up im thinking that on screenshots shown everyone has something different to clives atandard indicators.
for example an extra different indicator or mor lwma on charts and slighly different method from the standard clive system.

im.asking all to think maybe if in any way that adding one of there own indicators there using to be part of clives setup may help to.improve or add extra confirm to the default method.
a kind of add something new and see if it makes it better/easier.

does.it make entry easier and more positive and also maybe something as a way.to.see exit or.let.winner run on

Can you clever people please show me how I get Clive's indys downloaded into MT4..
Pretty big please.. never had to do it before.

take your username investor number and password from desktop.and use it to log into your account on laptop

Point 1 is probably possible but to be honest it is definately NOT my strategy to counter trend trade... 100000% trend trades only for me. thats what this system is all about trading with the trend and not only that with STRONG trends. therefore I think it would be foolhardy to counter trend trade a strong trend.... We did demonstrate this with the super indicator that you introduced if you remember ??? It signaled nearly all the time counter trend and nearly everyone was a loser...

Don't get me wrong I know theres loads of succesful counter trend traders but this is just so so wrong here on strong trends you will get burned 9 times out of 10... JMHO.....

Point 2 is fine for anyone to suggest other indicator and to add whatever they want to help them trade strong trenders, because thats what this thread is all about... I will say one thing about using more than one indy for the same job, bit of a waste of time.. CCI for me is brilliant and follows the waves brilliantly on strong trends and so will most indicators they all work very well on strong trending pairs so why have more than one??? they will signal at practically the same time as long as you've got the same look back period...

So from my point of view just make sure you're trading a strong trend then use the indy you're most comfortable with but to be honest you're only need one...look at this chart below I've got 4 indys CCI. stochastic,RSI and your Super-Indicator all doing the same job...all indicating round about the same time.

very good point made clive

i think the cci with the super indicator confirm well and is good together,,,my reason for asking was really to try and improve if possible and that some trader use indicators on there charts that others may like and find easier then what they corrently are using on there own ,,so if shared would be beneficial.
i must admit i see the odd one or two things of different charts and think mmm if i had that to replace mine would it make my chart cleaner,,,easier to read orsimply for mejust better to trade with.



as for my other point...

as you know,,,your system is all about the 1min chart

well i have been exploring the idea of the same method as you ,,,no different but as a swing trader on higher timeframe.

so maybe trade on the 15min or the 60min timeframes.

ill be honest i cant get my head around it,,,,,,,im hoping maybe as a groupwe could form your 1min method and explore it higher timeframe

ttindy?? 15min 60min ??settings?
same method of entry?

so do we basically enter via cci etc like we would do on say the 60min chart?i would say yes but 60 min charts are wide spread of the candle so how would we tackle that issue to minimise draw down

you know i think we could do it,,,maybe if we look at 60min chart and see an entry via our normal ways,,we then look down to the 15min then the 5 min then 1min for entry?

taking a moment of pause for a moment..................i guess this is come all about becos ive read about trades being taken and stopped out for a break even then frustrating to see it move into a big winner,,,,sohow could we turn this into a winner?

so thinking of a higher time frame. so to identify the bigger move.
also this could help prevent breakeven trades and make them winners.

anyway,,ive open up a discussion and maybe or maybe not explore this and see if us guys here maybe able to expand on this

to me we have clive trade on 1min chart and a swing trade on higher trade charts,,,how can we trade clives method and still stay in the trade to a bigger trade instead of closing out for break even?

1..ive been playing with different setups and settings,,,could you post your template please so i have the correct setting and indicators all laid on the chart like you

also

2. i know we did this before ,,,but for the group could we place a 2nd ttindy beside the other one but have it for 15min and 60 min and publish the right settings for the group.

im just thinking for those like me that like the bigger time frames etc then they can trade the same method as you but a swing trade method

eg look on 60min for the top trenders and the cci pull backs for the trendtrades.if i traded like this i would look down lower timeframes for confirmation to have as low a drawdown as possible

i have more then i should on here so wanna reduce with thegroups help to what i really dont need

how can we identify a bigger longer move rather then enter the 1min and keep getting stopped out for breakeven trades?
basically enter on 1min and let it run,,,,would we better identifying a trade on say 60 minas the clive entry with cci etc then looking for the sameon 15 down to 5 then clive classic method on 1min? then follow the trade on the higher timeframe eg 60min then again dropdown the timeframes for an exit?

Looks like you've cracked it looking at your last chart the pipometer is showing you have a trade open and making 3385.6 pips ???

Is that right?? If so why don't you show us that trade looks pretty good to me....

I expact it's a demo account cause it is realy unlikely to be real.

Look at the 100lwma sloping at about 45 degrees , thats the reason this template looks so cool and all the indicators are signaling so well. Its the strong trend making it all work...

That my friend is the secret to trading forex, just make sure you're trading strong trending pairs simple as that....
