Agree on the NZDUSD downside.

$nzdusd is really not my cup od tea but with the michigan CSI so strong I traded this breakout. Looking for a test of previous high at 0.7740 for a quick friday scalp. If it breaks I´m holding on to half of it

Went short during the recent spike up, took partial profit at 0.7767 seems it wanna bounce on EMA 50... (also the 61.8 fibo for me). Monday we will see what further moves this pair brings

We seem to be forming a nice bull flag on the 4hr. Waiting for confirmation of this as AUD weakness and USD strength could ruin it.

Potential short on NZD :

been doing alright with nzdusd, atm an annualized return of 105000%... seems like a longshot... hopefully next yr brings much more clear signals for us

0.77 will be a key support for NZD/USD; if we breach 0.7680, we practically have open season to 0.7600 and further down once that's breached.

The downside caused on Dec 16 was fueled by a slightly dovish FOMC Conference. Though the meeting was slightly dovish for the dollar, the dollar gained ground on most major pairs; market makers most likely saw the FOMC conference to be less dovish (i.e. more positive) for the dollar than expected. It's also possible that the market makers simply didn't care for the result, since a further movement upward was likely with the intraday trends for the dollar.

We also had slightly above average GDP for New Zealand, which caused a temporary spike to 0.7745 before being shut down right back to 0.7690 within minutes.

Altogether, so long as the area around 0.77 (+ or - 20 pips) keeps holding, we're likely to have a bounce back up before further falls. Note that we may briefly scratch 0.7660, which is the closest low point established on Dec 5. The bounce will likely find resistance at 0.7830/0.7810, which movements past 0.78 being crucial.

Currently, we're sitting right on 0.7680, and a bearish candlestick is forming on the hourly chart.

I suspect this is in due part to the FOMC results causing a sudden bullish buying of the dollar against major pairs- Euro, Yen, etc. Said currency pairs are also stuck at key points, and can go up or down (no guarantees).

Alright. Initial light resistance at 0.7720. If we can punch through this, I expect an attempt at 0.7800, with resistance possibly kicking in and slowing the move up at 0.778 (yesterday's high).

We may retest 0.77 once more in a bit. Maybe, maybe not. Still holding longs until 0.7800~0.7830 if we continue to show upwards momentum.

IF 0.7720/0.7740 remains resistance, I'd be very careful for further drop down to 0.7600. If we see a resumption of bearish movement without a proper bounce, I'll close with whatever losses I accrue. Hopefully that won't happen, but hopes and dreams have no place in speculation. They'll just hurt you in the end.
