can you please link the EA that youre trading live with... would love to backtest AND MODIFY IT.
I would love to do it, but since I got no complete history data, I couldn't do it, and the result seems to be messed up.
Oh and why are the losses so big compared to the winners?
Frankly, this is the first time I'm testing this strategy, with EURUSD. I have the other strategy modified from this strategy's base concept, and was tested on XAU on another non-MT4 platform, it was fine.
If you ask me to code/fix your EA... it's probably not for free...

Hi radityo.ardι thank you for your sharing. I'd really apreciate it if you could answer my query. what are the inputs in order to take 0.1 lot positions. it's the minimum order i can take with my broker. I have 4digit prices and I want to have 10pips TP and 40pips SL. thanks a lot in advance Tim
I promise will look and check, so the inputs should be in proper format. i.e.: if for EUR/USD, should be 40 pips instead of 400, and 0.01 lots instead of 1 quantity.
But as of now, here's what I can explain:
since I took the divider from the DIGITS (in EUR/USD the digits = 5, XAU/USD the digits = 2), you need to fill 400 for 40 pips for maximum loss, same applies for max profit, 50 means 5 points / pips.
At this point, I don't know if different brokers have different digits configuration for the same symbol, but it should be the same. For additional info, I used AGEA.
For Quantity, if you put 1 (the least amount you can put), that means 0.01 lot volume. This applies across forex and commodities. I haven't check for the others.
And last but not least: please try / test this on demo account first. I've never recommend on live account directly, as I don't provide any guarantee. How you will make profit, that depends on your own configurations.

I'm still trying to make this EA work on my 4digit MT4 with no success.(almost)
first of all, one thing I figured out is that the inputs must be the actual number we want and NOT with one extra 0.
so for ten pips we put 10. NOT 100. still not sure about the lots though. In the only case I made it work I had number 10 for quantity and it opened 1 lot. So I assumed that 1 is for 0.1 lot and 10 is for 1 lot.
these where the settings
so a buy stop and a sell stop initiated but no SL or TP. which means I had to manage the trade manually.
after that trade every other attempt with the same settings gives me that error
ERROR: Failed to start strategy. Reason: (non-string passed)
not sure what it means but I keep trying.
any help from ardi or anyone else who made it work will be most appreciated. thanx

also allow me to make one suggestion.
in the picture below is gbpusd today H1. as you see the low of the day before 11:00 gmt was right on the weekly and dayly Pivot, making it more difiicult for the price to reach our TP 10 pips under the pivots. maybe we could filter the trades when are taking place near significant sup/res levels.

ps: that was a manual trade on this strategy which ended up succesful

Pips = Profit / Lots;
Which means, that should be the same if you do right click on your order, Profit > as Points. If your chart saying that no need to put extra 0, that means it worked on 4 digits (as per the settings in Teletrade) for your symbol / pair.
Regarding the lot, I need to see and check with your broker tomorrow. It is night already here...

I'm trying the last version of the EA today and still can't make it work. it's something with the quantity. I tried 1, 10, 100, 1000, 10000, 100000 and gives me the following msg {image}
But I'll do my best to reply. Just wonder, since I wasn't aware that I put some logic / condition, (probably my mistake not giving any clear information). Actually nothing wrong with the EA.
The error message is quite clear though, for me. The problem is as below:
You've set the Order Based on Quantity to false. Which means, the lots / volume size, will be calculated as following formula
Volume = AccountBalance * this number.
For your case,
Volume = your account balance * 0.01
So, if you have balance of 1000000, then the volume will be
1000000 * 0.01 = 10000 / 100 = 100 lots.
So, not sure whether 100 lots is accepted with your broker.
Why I used this formula?
Because I don't want to get busy with setting up lot size if I keep the EA running all day, all months, all years. This method will get you a dynamic profit (and dynamic loss as well) according to your balance, since the lot size is dynamic.
Anyway, you can override this logic by setting Order Based on Quantity to true. It will take lot size from Quantity (micro lot) value. As I said before, Quantity of 1 is still equal to 0.01 lot. As the formula is 1 lot = 100000 units, and 0.01 lot = 1000 units, and 1000 units = 1 micro lot. Not sure whether the rule is quite different with other broker, but it should be the same. Please refer to this article.

UPDATE: I've updated with the new one. Now I've changed it with Lot concept (rather than Quantity concept).

Guys, if you got a chance, let us test this together with your own choice of pairs.
Would be better if you can attach it to your TradeExplorer, and moreover, make sure that your demo / test account is dedicated to this EA only.
So we can see, what is the result, and what is the best EA settings.
I'm planning to try INDEXES, but got no time, and got no memory left on my private server.
And I don't know if this EA is good for backtesting, but I've tried many times, got no good result. Probably my chart data wasn't complete / good, but I suppose this would fit better if you do forward testing.

i tried the last ea you posted and it seems to set the trades right but it still doesn't set the SL and TP.
also is it supposed to close the other pending order when the first is triggered? it doesn't do that either and that would be really helpfull if it was happening.
