Patience is the key,
I'm shorting eur/jpy now (SL 147.5) and (TP on 140), (1-4 months period)
add small shorts every 50 pips the way to 140
You must have a plan
targeting 500-1000 pips at least
trading without a plan is suicide
Forget scalping and one day trading

Oh yes Murphys law hey...no I wont close but rather I will unhedge 10 percent each opportunity I get

Well my plan is this - to open the hedge at 10 % and then after each rally hedge it again, whatever I bank on the hedges I will use it to cut the positions that are long EUR USD from the top - so even if it never gets back to 1.36 area it wont matter as long as I get my equity back

The main thing you need to worry about here is your spread. If it widens too greatly you could be kicked out, depending on your broker and policy of course. Man hope you can get out of this one.

Nothing is impossible..i myself once recovered from huge losses.. It needs patience and consistency.. i once recovered my USD2K to USD 10K after 2 short months.. My method is PA, volatile pairs, and M5 entry and ONLY ON PEAK MARKET HOURS (LONDON OPEN TO US OPEN)

That $800k in the red is as good as gone, what's the difference that the position are still open? Other than the fact that if you closed them you won't be able to open as large a trade as you did.

what you are trying to achieve here is turning that 10% which is your real equity and getting a 1000% gain, to get back to where you were, who in this forum can say they have the ability to do so? Not trying to offend anyone but who to say these trades, strategies or plans even have a 50% success rate? If not, following these advices will just gets you into deeper shit

Assuming you’re serious — the answer should be obvious. But you need to forget about your losses for long enough to ask yourself some hard questions.

If you’ve lost 90% of your capital, then to return back to the starting amount requires a 1,000% increase of your remaining capital.

So the question is: given any starting amount, is it possible for a trader make a 1,000% return, over time? And the answer is yes, but only if he first knows how to trade profitably.

Do you currently know how to trade profitably? Since you’ve just lost 90% of your account, I guess the answer is no. So if you continue trading now, everything points to your losing the remaining 10%. Repeating a failed strategy and expecting a different result is....... at best, illogical.

Hence the answer is to close your account, go away and learn how to trade profitably, and only then start with a small amount and attempt to grow it. If you have the knowledge and personal qualities needed to succeed, then given enough time you’ll gradually recoup your loss. Good luck.

You are holding eur/usd longs from third week of July 2014 with this euro circus going on the economic front? So fascinated by RSI, MACD and other indicators? I am sorry to hear about your predicament but its time u face the facts. Been in that position a few time myself in the early days.

To answer ur question it is possible but not probable. U can recover it only if u get lucky. I say this because to recover it u have to use high leverage and think that's the reason y u r in this situation in the first place.

A prudent step would be to take a step back, regroup, see where u went wrong and then get back in the game with ur initial starting capital.

That way u can ensure that u don't lose that 10% and have a much better chance of recovering ur losses. Slowly but surely if u have a solid trading plan.

I checked his profile, he seems to be genuine. He took his eyes off the facts and went into exploring indicators while every thing on the fundamental side was issuing warnings against longer-term longs. He went after collecting his 150 pips from 1.3600 forgetting that 1.3750 that is a very strong level has been broken and market bears would try to protect this level at every cost. All major banks led people to go short for a reason. He had a good plan in place, but executing every plan B has a cost. He refused to pay this cost plus remained hopeful that market will come back. One reason he could not benefit much from his hedging tool. It seems that he is not fully aware of power of hedging and its different uses. Let him provide the detail if he wants to survive.

ps. He can survive because he is not under-capitalized. He still has 80K left, good enough to maintain a decent operating level. That would have been a totally different story if he had $2,000 in his account. However, if he does not act now, any further reduction in this amount will kill his operating capacity and the accoount.
