I'm with IC markets, G. Haven't had any problems personally. Ask to transfer to their Live-03 server if you decide to deposit. It's better than the Live-02 server in terms of price feed/freeze problems Hope all is well buddy

Cheers, they've stuck me on the Live-04 server for now, will see how that is for the time being.

Good luck it should be all good. I have been called a perfectionist more than once so don't pay too much attention my prattle.

This is exactly what I am talking about in regards to the IC Markets platform freezing at the start of an hour. I opened the Market Watch and took this shot in a hurry when my adjustment of an order was failing to go through. Notice the difference in time between the Market Watch and my local time on Windows. The shot shows two IC Markets live accounts/platforms, notice that the price froze at the same level. Because I was in a hurry I couldn't show my other brokers platforms but they are still running, in other words this freeze in not caused from my end but the IC Markets end, there is no other explanation.

Aside from the bucket shops from the MM model, the most of the true ECN brokers are not really out to screw us per se but they do nickle & dime us to try to squeeze as much money out of us as possible whether it is in the form of transaction fee, inactive fees, roll-over/swap interest spread, you name it on top of commissions they charge. Every single possible excuse they can think of to charge us extra, they use it. And their transparency of disclosure leaves much to be desired. I guess because the ECN model's pricing structure is different from the MM model where the profit is in the spread and each spread is about 1 pip and in a standard lot that's automatically $10 USD assuming your funding currency is in USD and usually those MM's spread is about 4-6 to even 8 for some currency pairs (ASSUMING that they don't trade against us traders) whereas in an ECN, the spread is usually lot tighter and even with the commissions that they charge, they still have to make up the difference somewhere otherwise they won't survive. And it's no good to us when they don't cuz we lose ALL of the money that we have with them unless your broker is a member of the some kind of investor protection fund. At retail level, this seems to be the case from what my personal experience and what I read on various forums. I don't know if this is the same at institutional level when you hand them 1 million+ to start off with and your trading size is several ten's and hundred's million at a time.

any one trading big lots with IC markets? I will soon start trading big lots and I want to be sure that no games will be played when huge lots are traded.

Your screenshot does not really say anything except that you have a really bad internet connection 7735/4 is terrible, it should be somewhere between 250 - 500 / 4. I would check your internet connect and plug directly into your router and if your using a 3/4 G modem scrap it fast.

My internet connection/system is excellent. Your reasoning fails to understand the problem ie only losing connection on the hour and only to the IC Markets platform while other platforms/applications are still running. Question: do you think the download rate to the broker would be good or bad if I have lost connection to the server? Besides I think your understanding of the first number is wrong. I think it is total number of KB downloaded by the platform since it was opened (hence it will always increase while open).

I dont have any disconnection issues at all. It makes no sense for any broker to have disconnects every hour, you should check your EAs. Good luck finding a solution seems like your a lone soldier here.

Maybe that's true maybe it's not. The only way I noticed it was because I was trying to trade at that time and the orders failed otherwise I would have been none-the-wiser. It doesn't give a disconnect signal so it is difficult to spot. My EA's are always running (not hourly specific) and if the problem occurs on the ICM platforms without the EA's and no problem on the other brokers platforms I can only attribute the problem from the feed end of my connection. Btw it's not every hour, it is irregular.

I would suggest shutting down a few of the ICM accounts you have opened on your PC, I trade with 5 brokers and run 3 PCs, i dont have any problens at all with IC Markets. Or just use a VPS.

I could probably run 50+ platforms and still have no "system" problems. It's not my system.

Not even proffesional traders at investment banks can run 50 plus platforms so you must have a supercomputer that no one in this world knows about. Please tell us your computers specifications and ill be sure to pass it onto by buddies at Deutsche bank.

I do face disconnection and absent of ticks when I concentrate on 1 minute charts.

I am scalper on 30 mins chart but some time when I swith to 1 minute chart, I face this issue.

I have toshiba laptop with decent internet connection.

any one here traading big lots with IC markets? I am going to start trading big lots and I dont want any issues with that kind of trading, any honest review will help a lot.

if not IC which broker will you suggest?

Personally I don't have any problems with IC Markets on Live Server 01. Maybe ask to be transferred to a different server? It's also a good idea to remove all quotes from the watchlist of any instruments you're not actually following - it can really bog down MT4 if there is a lot of market activity. No matter how good your internet connection is, my own view is that it's essential to trade from a VPS in the same data centre as the broker. If all else fails ditch IC markets and use Global Prime. The spreads may be slightly higher but if you want proactive fault finding and good customer service you'll get it there.

That's rather subjective don't you think?

They have tight spreads but the liquidity is often pretty thin at the top, so depending on what "big" actually is you may get slipped a fair bit. I wouldn't say they play games though.
