Yes there is a gap on the chart. Price did gap up but the gap was filled and price closed up. This action plus bullish divergence is making me think the downside is more difficult to profit from for now. Thanks for your post

Your chart provides food for thought. However I dont see a full blown move up to that extent without first going to near parity. But anything is possible i these markets. The fundamentals as they stand today do not support long term strength in the eurusd for the time being and any upmove should be sold after its upward energy is spent. There will be tradable upward swings but we will need to be nimble

I am a short term trader..Olu .. I just cant help my self..following with interest your charts on the USDX .. its one I follow close my self..re fundies ..afraid I am hopeless with em .. my mind just doesn't work like that..just getting away a little from charts..but for me it does have a big bearing..some years a go I had a very strong relationship with a very intelligent handsome woman who was much older than my self.. I am in my early 70s now and have very little formal education.. as well as many other things she educated me and changed my way of thinking which continues to this day.. one of the things she beat into me was the Peter Principal.. I had never heard of it and as a matter of fact very few people I know had either..basic ly it means know your limitations and don't rise above those limitations until you are confident you can.. in other words don't don't pretend you are something you are not..my life and my trading has sure become a lot easier since I accepted/embraced this principal..thats just me thou..

I agree with all your have said in that post. I only trade what is comfortable to me as well like you do. I am truly a technical trader but where the fundys are glaring I will have it at the back of my mind. I am slowly trading my way to becoming a position trader. Hence my need to adapt global fundies in my trading. By the way you said you are in your 70s. . I am only 47 and I am loving the possibility, like you, of trading to my 70s. I currently work as a pharmacist and it is loooong hours which I would like to cut down . My prayers is that we all have the good health,wherewithal and independence to do what we want to do the way we want to do it.

I am with you on this one Srt. That reversal is too large to ignore. I think there is a fundamental shift in traders opinion and price could be going much lower from here.

The daily chart does look toppy but the weekly chart doe not support a sell atm imho. However I will be following this one closely next week. All the other xxx.jpy pairs look bullish though...

The moving average on the chart is the 200ema. If you look back price at the last 3 times it interacted with price price did not ventures more than 50pips below it before it turned higher. Will it do the same this time?If price takes out the nearby low to the downside this idea is wrong

Addition:
Price broke down right out of the gate but the downside has stalled. A break above 1080 aiming to the top of the structure is a possible trade for me
