Here is an example of an easy way to spot short term counter trend opportunities.

The chart is EUR/USD H1

I am just using a CCI with bands on price and the CCI.

When the CCI is higher than price you will look to buy, and the other way around when it's lower.

This can be done with every oscillator, you just have to find one that fits you, and find the right settings by going back in time and testing. This will require market knowledge, because there will be times where CCI is lower/higher than price, and you still shouldn't enter a trade. This is very nice to have alongside your usual system to determine entries and maybe exits. It's all about stacking probabilities when trading forex!!!

This is a good start, but most who fallowed the simularity thread has tried every occilattor thats known to mankind in this fashion (or should have)
found lots of good things there.

But you have to give us something really good. we know you got it!

after experiment awhile, looks like it is eurusd h1 from Okt 7.
in main window:
ema 1 close
bolingger band (bb) 24,2

in below window:
cci 300, median
bb 24,2

from the ullen's example i can assume when there is difference between both line (cci below bb median price while price is above bb median), then it's asell signal. and for the opposite condition it's a buy signal... but this could be false signal.. take a look in august 25th.. and sept 1st

I tend to think that you can use any indicator that suits you (granted you took enough time to look how this indicator tends to behave) once you got that Market Knowledge and have understood/or see the Markets mechanics.
Though I can be wrong as I am not there yet .

The most important part of trading is to stack your probabilities. If my other analysis says that a pair has to correct an error below, and this analysis tells me that i should sell, i have higher probability for a good entry.

Total trades =120
Winning long trades =75
Winning short trades=45
Loosing short trades =1
75+45+1=121
freinds please verify it.This thread is looking very suspicious.

Hahahaha. You really have no idea how to look at it.

Look at ''profit trades'' and ''loss trades'' 199+1 = 120.

Amount of short/long positions doesn't say anything about the amount won/lost. Please know what you're looking at before posting stuff like this using words like ''suspicious''

this is a trade with the trend
as soon as the top failed to resist the bulls took over and eat the whole bear bunch in one day
this trade setup happens once or twice a year on every market
i would like to see a master counter trend trader to try to trade this move short
