I, too, would like to get into news trading... but honestly, it's not that I don't know where to begin... it's just that my lack of patience, discipline, and ultimately my lack of structure... is not fit for news trading at the time.

However, maybe this thread can help me change that...

PS: I know the title of this thread is 'Central Banks' and they usually set the trends, so I just wanted to say in my opinion what the 2 biggest trends are these days.

I could be wrong (in the sense that there MAY be a better trend), however, the two that I am really focusing on are:

- WEAK YEN
- STRONG "BOUNCE" NZD DOLLAR (THEN SHORT TO 0.65)
- YOU COULD PROBABLY ALSO THROW IN USD STRENGTH, BUT IT WILL NOT LAST FOREVER

One of the best trades (investments) is short NZD/USD all the way to 0.65, since that is where the central bank wants it at. You could probably make about ~1,200 or so pips in about 6 to 12 months.

Or, buy anything yen, ie: xxx/JPY. That will never fail you, either.

I was wondering why it didnt take off right away and then Bang like it was shot out of a cannon. Goodstuff!

Welcome... it didn't take off right away because Weekly USD Unemployment stats produce minor effects.
What made it shoot down is Draghi stating slow recovery in his speach (years)... at about 3 minutes after conference started.
Gotta be fast on the trigger. Good learning and much success.

Also can you tell me what is the highest spread on Oanda during this realese? Can it go up to 10 pips?
