{quote} Post Thanks for the summary, I will try to pay attention to it this week... I like your signature, "Invest in alarm clocks"! Haha, that is so original, and true! I am AWFUL at waking up on time, but I'm gonna try to get up at 7:30 AM or 8 AM every day this week... that's when the big money is wide awake... And even though I set about 7 alarms on my new iPhone, it still doesn't matter! I just snooze them all! I am THE WORST! Also Tony, may I ask, how...

Hey Smash,
Good call on USD/JPY, you turned out to be 100% accurate. I actually went long USD/JPY last week as it is one of the strongest investments out there right now. It has already come close to hitting my target. This is one of the best threads on FF. The risk/reward is insane with news trading and this week is packed with good news.

You're welcome, glad to help as always.

And USD/JPY has been one of the best trades out there for the last 1 or 2 years already... but don't expect it to stop now.

If you are REALLY serious about catching the yen moves, you will want to join either the USD/JPY Discussion forum, OR Geppy's Geppy thread, where I post more often.

PS: NZD strengthening now pretty hard...

I just meant good call. My system would have never signaled a buy when you were waiting for it to take off. My system knows how to hone in on the most powerful trends during the times of highest volume. I'm not sure how long you were waiting for it to get going.

I got about 600 pips in a week and a half and that just wasn't possible a few months ago. Either way, news trading is where it's at. It beats just about every other strategy out there in my opinion.

Again, I am very glad to help! It is nice to know that my posts do not go unnoticed here, and to think that they might even be.... USEFUL... is just totally awesome

I am really happy tonight because I was just posting on my Facebook wall about the midterm elections, and some girl responded to me who I haven't seen in years, and now we have a date scheduled for next week!!! W00000000T

However, I would like to correct you. I think you have mistaken the two concepts of "trend trading" versus "news trading". What you are talking about (and what I was previously talking about) is TREND TRADING.

Which simply means, finding a trend, and milking it.

News trading is much more simplistic. It generally lasts from about an hour before the news, up to an hour or two after the news. And it generally consists of volatility between 25 and 150 pips.

So if you make between 25 and 150 pips in about 2-4 hours, then THAT is what you call "news trading". If you wait much longer than 2-4 hours to make that kind of money or more, then you are not a "news trader" but instead a "trend follower".

Just wanted to clarify. Thanks. God bless everyone tonight cuz I am feelin' good!

PS: Do not want to be rude, however, I will not lie either. If you think your system is one of the most powerful "trend detection systems" there is, why don't you personally PM me and we can discuss the details? If you still think you have the best, then you should try my system. But I am less likely to talk about it in the open public, so you will have to msg me for details, and perhaps we can have a conversation then. I will share with you if you will share with me...

It's mostly a coin toss. The reason why I chose to use a coin is because

1. I don't blame my self, but blame the coin if it fails
2. I don't congratulate the coin it it wins, I congratulate myself
3. Forex is random chaos, so is the coin toss. They go along together very well and have an amazing chemistry.

It's a very good question and point you bring. In the next sessions we will explore the advantages of the coin toss together. Stay tuned.

I'm sorry, I think you misunderstood me. I am totally aware of what trend trading is. I was just trying to direct my last comments back toward Tony's thread. I am fully aware that my "other" system is built around trends. Also, I was just saying that you made a good call.

My system would not have signaled a buy when you were talking about USD/JPY as it was doing absolutely nothing at that time. It did nothing for almost 5 months and thankfully, my system kept me out and helped be focus on better opportunities.

As far as news trading goes, Tony's thread is probably my favorite on FF. I have crunched the numbers and ironically my results show that even with all of the fancy technical analysis that I have studied and learned over the past couple of years still couldn't even come close to giving me the profits that "simple" news trading can.

It's a bitter sweet kind of irony.

Actually, there could be a science to it.

For example, the AUD Employment Change beat expectations 64% during the last 8 years.

I mostly use old coins for luck. I have an old collection of coins from Bulgaria and all over the world. I'll display it soon here. It's amazing.

I mostly suggest when you get the Queen you buy.

For any animal or stuff like that, you sell. I'm telling you man.

Sailboat is SELL for example on a Canadian Dime...

When you evolve you'll start looking at deeper things than that. It really has to be random though meaning that the object used from randomness must not represent any edge statistically. For example you could take a stick from a tree and chose your favorite side (e.g.) thick side vs thin side of the stick. Toss the stick in the air very high and check which end points towards you once it falls. E.g: if you chose the tick side and meant buy, you buy. If you chose the thin side then it's sell. The object has to not represent any trend or unequal odds. You could also use more evolved destiny directed elements like dogs, leaves, rocks and many other things.

p.s. do not throw the dog, you can look at things like which legs dirtier nails or other random things.
