I have been with Trader24 since September 2013. Tried trading last week wednesday and got a message saying cant trade. Logged out of my MT4 and when I logged back in, my balance was 0 and all my history gone. At the bottom it said invalid account. Tried phoning them but the number seems to be invalid. Found a message on the web saing "Trader24 closed down".

It`s really bad what happened with you. I trade on instaforex and it`s quit good. you can try this. At least take a look at https://www.instaforex.com/ Hope you like this

Unfortunate incidents don't happen everyday but when it does happen, how does it affect you. (payment processor Liberty Reserve (LR) getting closed)

Once I have made payment to any broker to fund my trading account via any intermediary service provider and they have confirmed receiving it then I should not get affected if the intermediary service provider closes down. This happened with instaforex.
I had accounts with 4 brokers and funded by Liberty reserve : exness , instaforex, liteforex and forex4u. After the payment processor LR closed down , I had no issues with withdrawals at exness , liteforex and forex4u and they provided withdrawals via neteller , webmoney , perfect money and skrill as per my choice.
However instaforex froze all withdrawals for 6 months for customers who had funded with LR and also deducted half the deposit amount irrespective of profits or losses.

At that time I was a trader making losses only and eventually lost almost my entire account deposit ( losses plus their 50% deduction policy).
Beware of this broker. Some other brokers are sunbird (pathetic withdrawal processing time of about 2 weeks ) , liteforex (deductions of profits only as per clause 6.8) ,etc
I learnt it the hard way by losing .(due to lack of knowledge ) You can either learn it from others experience or learn it later with your own experience. Its your money and you decide.
