This is a 4H chart of AUD/USD. Since the price attempted at least four times to break through the 23.6% line but all failed, I believe the bull energy is falling at least these days. So I take a short. But there's a strong support around 0.8650.

IMO trend is undefined right now. have lower highs but missing lower lows. Since it closed 0.86714 it have yet to closed daily below that. Also daily closed are getting higher if anything. I'm not too updated on the fundamental fronts on aussie, what's the outlook on that?

It does look like a fluke, but to me it looks like a testing of the 0.8750 level. I don't know, feels like it was kind of inevitable after so many tries. But mid-Asian session A/U seems to be recovering back into .8740s and London will probably get it back into the 60s and 70s at least. Not much by way of major news at all either until FOMC next Wednesday so probably we'll fluctuate with .8700/20 being secondary support after .8740/50.

AUDUSD H4

We'd go with the trend. I think the trend (H4) is still lateral. Then I act as acting sideways trend.
And when the trend is lateral, the oscillators are the price right.
What do you think?

Why not wait for the price out of the sideways trend to make decisions?

I agree. The main trend is down. But now there is a correction on a historical support, and the price is lateral. Should we make decisions based on the market condition?

AUDUSD TIMEFRAME H4:

One question I want to make the thread. I have noticed that many times before restarting the primary trend, the price usually moves in the opposite direction, seeking liquidity (who says liquidity, says hunting stops, pending orders hunt, hunting newbies ...)
Where is this movement?

I'm sideline with this pair. Maybe some small pips range trade here and there. For me there is just no telling right now for long term, could be anything. So I would say no direction rather than try to fortune tell. Plus still hurting from Aussie this month when I went deep into a bear trap with lot size that i'm not comfortable with lol...newbie greed mistake.

We as small traders shouldn't be deciding the market, let the market tell us the direction, we are merely following what the market tell us.
The true fact is market doesn't care, risk mgt is important.

Seems to me still a good long trade with around 80 pips left to go up. Also, H1 chart shows ascending triangle being formed hinting to bullish breakout...

Yes, that's been my understanding/view. But I've gotten into the habit of checking more than 1 charting package to see the best signals. Thought I had the bases covered, until I see yet another package showing things a little differently.

However, it's not just the server times, but the overall look and feel of the package. I'm able to see things better with it. Think I'll add it to my list of things to analyze even if I stay with current broker...
