I took a little punt on UVXY - with shares at $53.xx I bought Nov $25 puts. Holding off to see if the smoke clears a bit this week and I will look to sell weekly or Nov puts for credit or reduction of the $1.33 debit....^VIX looking pretty spikey, doesn't mean it won't keep spiking though. I am betting it will revert....
UVXY hadda drop like $6 before I even broke even on this trade. what a joke...

Quiz for novice options traders:

IWM held its own in selloff day, actually gained $2.40 on the day. I'm in a Nov/Dec put spread, $96 short/$103 long. I have been waiting to buy back the $96 puts and sell another leg at something closer to the $103's. The Dec $103 puts lost $0.15 today, but the Nov $96 puts, $7 further otm, gained $0.03. Why?

yeah, further out is better. Fed likely will be pushing out the rate hike date....

By the time market opens everyone will be too late to buy puts instead if indeed NFLX opens below $330 that's a massive $128 fall from the close of yesterday I'll be looking to LONG short term CALLS expecting some retrace

Exactly. Overall bearish sentiment. I am glad I did NFLX IC on paper (literally I just write down the prices)... and I would not do it on live account because when market is plunging you have to promise miracles in order for it to not just go down with the market. Especially on stocks that have a history of big ER's moves. NFLX is the only stock in my short history of option trading with winning ER's plays of 1) long straddle, I think it was last year when it jumped much and 2) few months back I did a IC on it and it was a over 60% winner the next day...

Didn't had the balls to short that V reversal from yesterday on SnP. I could do it with CFDs, while waiting for Monday because of PDT rules.
Hope is dangerous in this game.
