i am with this fourm / thread that the trend is your enemy not your friend
my way of trading is to catch any good feed back from any source i like to use that it is showing counter trend signals.
i am not indi fan, but yes there are so many ini's will give you a signal to get into counter trend trades.
however, in 100% of the signals of counter trend once you made your rade, the market will go against your trade.... why ?
because if you open 0.01 lot , there will be 10000000000000000000000000 trades ae open to be filled against you from brokers, banks and big players to make you triger the stop loss, so i do not have any stop loss in my trades..
yes yes yes i know, someone will pop up and will say, trading without top loss is not correct........ yeaahhhhhhh this is B#*@#ht, your MM and yur original account balance with the pairs hedging will protect your trade.
i have wo threads for the same strategy called samer00000/ssi and ssii .

note - do not buy and sell in the same pair, you will wip out your account due to the spread loss .........what ? try to study some math with the ask and bid locations coparered to the spread and open opposite rades and you will understand that buying and sellin in the same pair is killing strategy

Interesting thread, makes a nice change from the my trade is bigger than yours kind of stuff!

Am I thinking too simple here? most breakouts are false, something I learned many years ago and never got to grips with until now. Breakouts fool us into thinking where the price is going. Poor retailers jump on the short term trend and get hit!

Most of my trades are done against the short term trend when a breakout occurs. Not always the best entries but getting about 70% positive trades. Eur/Gbp broken out above the 0.7900 level and will likely fade back into the range. Thats what I might do. Don't trade this pair normally but my extra bias is I am generally a bear and like a short trade
Short Euro and remaining that way. That's just the way it is !

I can't spot other besides 0.7869 - which hasn't been cleared as Ullen called.

But I think it will hit 0.7963 before turning downwards - since this is an old uncleared area... and I have a 118.7+ pips trade going on and it's soon to be hit

Did you get some nice pips from EUR/USD besides the stop hunts? Because you were totally correct.

I don't have any levels down there except for big tf's which I don't trade, just like to see for knowing. I have more immediate levels, one was bullish and one @ 0.79403.

Also, 0.7963 is a very old area. The problem having areas remaining open for that long is massive potential dd, if you have the math right levels will be hit fairly soon.

Cool with the EUR/USD-trade - I regret I did not take some shorts on that one...

I'm experiencing too many DD-situations unfortunately... but so far on 62 consecutive wins although I have a negative float.

What do you think about USD/CHF? - Just added a small short so far... dunno about its outcome!

And what do you mean by ''doing the math right and then the levels will be hit fairly soon''? Is it your way of timing good entries with potential low DD?

USDCHF has a level about 80 pips south.

It's the secret to a part of the method, not gonna divulge it here.

I don't know, I don't use TZ indicator.

That was a good call!

Now let me throw in my idea to the strategy. Delete my post if you feel it reveals anything.

We are looking at the 15m chart.
Trigger for a trade is an unusually big move consisting of 1-5 candles with little to no wick.
We dont know what caused this move, it may be news or just big players stop hunting, but its not relevant.
As soon as we see price is not going any further, we buy or sell in the opposite direction of the big move.
It will take some time for price to get back to its "real" price, so entries are sometimes possible hours later.

Is this somewhat correct or am I way off?
